About this listen

A serial killer stalks the streets of Savannah....

Homicide detective Elise Sandburg and her partner, profiler David Gould, are all too familiar with the terrible costs of chasing evil. Despite their wounded psyches, the detectives delve into the deranged killer's twisted mind, determined to unravel the clues in the taunts he leaves behind.

A city gripped by fear....

When his daughter becomes the killer's next victim, a grief-stricken mayor comes down hard on the police, demanding that they catch the psychopath - now. Feeling the pressure, department officials enlist the aid of both Elise's estranged father and an FBI profiler who has unresolved business with David.

A cunning and elusive madman....

In a heart-pounding race to stop the next homicide, the detectives uncover their own role in the madman's deadly game. Will they outsmart the killer before another horrific murder takes place in their beautiful city? Or have Elise and David finally met their match?

The series just keeps getting better

The narrator is amazing, I love her soft dulcet tones. This is a series that I highly recommend, it’s dark there are elements of magic and voodoo, characterisation is great, good fast pace with plenty of interest throughout

This series constantly develops.

The series takes a while to get into, but give it time to draw you in. The characters are complex and constantly growing. Also they have found the sweet spot of the narrator and dialogue, giving it a smooth flow.

Pretty good wallpaper fiction 👌

This series is great, although the characters do that thing where you just want to shout at them "don't go in there" "just pick up the phone" " wait for back up" & that kind of thing. But what these books lack in common sense they make up for in atmosphere & a frustrating hint at romance. They're not the cleverest or scariest but they are addictive & I can't stop listening! Good wallpaper stories if that makes sense, I'll be sad when the series finishes.

The wolf in sheeps clothing

Much better story line on this book three of this series. Full of twists , turns, half truths and excitement the book was very much a non stop listen/read . Great finale which has convinced me to buy book four.

What has happened to Elise?

In book one, Elise was a powerhouse, book two, a sentimental, sighing teenager and in book three, an easily persuaded, unloyal friend and colleague. I truly wish we could return to the good old days. I'll keep on with this franchise, though at this point I'm wondering why. I have never eye rolled nor skipper past long meandering descriptions in all my listening time.
