About this listen

"Poems of William Blake" includes: "Songs of Innocence", "Songs of Experience" and "The Book of Thel".

All three are volumes of poetry by the English poet and painter, William Blake. "The Book of Thel" is a poem by William Blake, dated 1789 and probably worked on in the period 1788 to 1790. It was illustrated by his own plates, and is relatively short and easy to understand, compared to his later prophetic works. The metre is a fourteen syllable line.©2017 SAGA Egmont (P)2017 SAGA Egmont

Sam Stinson's recitation of Blake's 'Songs' has the emotive appeal of an automaton. Don't buy..

the sublime Blake, England's spiritual soul, rendered by an american with the.most appalling accent and intonation I have ever heard. please, please, do not buy. audible should ensure buyers know the nationality of narrators. i resent paying money for something where the contract is not elicit, particularly when the product is 100% audio. selling under false pretenses.

awful and inappropriate narration

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The narrator does not do these beautiful poems justice. The voice is inappropriate for classical poetry. Also, one poem per chapter does not need to be conveyed to the listener. The announcement of each chapter, followed by the title of the poem breaks up the flow from one poem to the next. The title of each poem is sufficient.

Poorly narrated - not recommended.
