Critic reviews

"Pippi is in the great tradition of children's protagonists who subvert the adult world, whether by questioning it, like Alice, or simply throwing it into chaos, like Dr Seuss's Cat in the Hat." (Sean French, The Guardian)

Sandi Toksvig is perfect 👍

Well read and thoroughly enjoyable. My kids love this story - so many things that could never happen especially in today's world - a nice bit of escapism.

A celebration of the ridiculous

Astrid Lingstren’s creation of Pippi Longstocking is an inspired and delightful characterisation of the child in all of us. Pippi is a parentless girl who exercises choice and prioritises fun and kindness but also works hard and is strong and fearless in everything she does. She is a role model and superhero for all children in all times.

Great bedtime reading

Each chapter is about 15mins and makes perfect bedtime reading for a child, as each chapter has a start, middle and end. I am an adult reader, I purchased this book because I heard a knit wear designer mention Pippi Longstocking, and I was intrigued.
