Summary

Peter Hawthorn is a character in a series of works recounting his life in the British army.

Joining the 2nd Yorkshire regiment with his lifelong friends, he is deployed to Northern Ireland, where they are turned from boys into men through their experiences of the troubles and the loss of friends at the hands of the IRA.
Unknown to these son's of Yorkshire, there is a traitor among them, and this will lead to some thought-provoking and gut-wrenching outcomes.

Peter and his friends must learn to survive in this environment of distrust and violence, but beside the horrors of insurgency, Peter finds the love of his life, but not without obstacles to cross.

The question is will he return home a better man?

A few errors within the book but still enjoyable

The Bogside is in Derry/Londonderry not Belfast
The Police in Northern Ireland are not Gardai
