About this listen

The captivating and unforgettable saga of the Dollanganger family continues in Petals On the Wind, the New York Times bestselling sequel to Flowers in the Attic and the inspiration behind the Lifetime original movie and “tortured love story” (Variety).

Forbidden love comes into full bloom. For three years they were kept hidden in the eaves of Foxworth Hall, their existence all but denied by a mother who schemed to inherit a fortune. For three years their fate was in the hands of their righteous, merciless grandmother. They had to stay strong…but in their hopeless world, Cathy and her brother, Christopher, discovered blossoming desires that tumbled into a powerful obsession. Now, with their frail sister, Carrie, they have broken free and scraped together enough for three bus tickets and a chance at a new life. The horrors of the attic are behind them…but they will carry its legacy of dark secrets forever.

I enjoyed hearing about the loves of the children in the attic when they grew older. Then ending is not my favourite I must admit but I enjoyed this book

A brilliant sequel

I loved Flowers in The Attic. This story didn't quite live up to the first book. Some of the story lines became a bit silly. But still, mostly an enjoyable listen

Exaggerated events, Cathy a bit over the top

Had to listen to this as it is the second in the series but the narrator was very unappealing and spoilt the book

Poor narrator

I expected a dark, twisted revenge tale, but found 20 chapters of self absorbency, vain obsession, and poorly developed, unlikable characters. Once again, the aithor portrays womwn as vain, pathetic, and boring, and men animals, who cannot control themselves. I also noticed a lot of times when the characters changed opinions completely, which wouldn't happen. overall, very poor.

Vain, no personality

It's 20+ chapters of the protagonist being abused and coerced into relationships with abusive and controlling men. It's not romantic, it's not love, it's a weird rape fantasy.

Nah
