zzzzzz - so bored
I read this book years ago, but I wanted to read this series again so I decided to listen to them. I could hardly get through the book. The narrator was so monotone and slow, with no inflection or variation of voice. I was so bored. I would not recommend the audiobook. I enjoyed the book when I read it years ago, so if you wanted to read it, go with the hard copy. Don't waste your money or credit on the audiobook.

Moved slow and not real exciting. Ended badly.
What did you like best about Pearl? What did you like least?
I liked the way the characters evolved. I liked the fact that she writes like a Christian with none of the worldly influence.I didn't like the ending.
Would you be willing to try another book from Lauraine Snelling? Why or why not?
Yes, I want to finish the series because they are clean.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voice is irritating and slow and her inflections are wrong.
Could you see Pearl being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I would like to see the whole series being made into a series. Don't know stars well enough to have input.

Sweet series.
I listened to this book on a looonnnggg road trip which may have been a mistake. The narrator is a bit montone, but it may have been the monotone highway I was on. The story is sweet. The series is a good one.

Great book!
At the chapter splits, some of the novel was missing and the reader's pronunciation of the 'wh's was so airy that it was strange to listen to. Otherwise, I loved this book!

L. Snelling never disappoints. And this narrator gives a performance that supports the storyline rather than calling attention to herself. A winning combination.

Excellent listen! not as Jesus-y as it sounds
I enjoyed this book even more than the first. I purchased Ruby not realizing that these were "inspirational." But, because of the historical context, the references to religion fit well with the story, which is sweet and interesting and wonderfully narrated.
