Fritjof Capra, scientist, educator, activist, and accomplished author, presents the evolution of his thought over five decades in Patterns of Connection. First introduced in the late 1950s to the work of Werner Heisenberg, a founder of quantum mechanics, Capra quickly intuited the connections between the discoveries of quantum physics and the traditions of Eastern philosophy - resulting in his first book, the best-selling The Tao of Physics. Listen before you buy
This audiobook is dreadful. The concern is not the book itself, which is excellent; but the narrator. Do listen to the sample. For me, it is dreadful. Again, it is a fantastic physical book but as an audible, no. If you imagine a font which takes so much effort to read, that you lose the meaning of the text, well this narrators voice has the same affect; he has a very nasal tone; he also constantly over emphasises every ‘the’ and ‘a’ making the reading stilted. There is also a sound quality issue as the narrator made many errors in his reading, shown in the re-recording of passages and, consequently, different tones and pitch of his voice. The whole point of an audible is that you can listen. I did try to listen; I really wanted to listen, I really like Fritjof Capra’s work, but not when read by Gareth Richards. I returned it for a refund.
