Summary

Adair Stanton grew up in the peaceful hamlet known as North Western. While she ran barefoot through wildflowers, her family ran a prosperous inn on the stagecoach route.

As an adult with a child of her own, Adair is ready to take her place at the inn. One of the guests, a man named Robert Fawn, is convinced he’ll find gold in the Mohawk River that flows through North Western. Everyone believes him to be daft.

Then one day, Robert Fawn vanishes. Adair is convinced someone has harmed him for the gold.

But who in her hometown would be so sinister?

What dark secrets lurk beneath the smiles?

Very good.

This is the first Jordan Elizabeth book I have read and I look forward to reading more in the future.
Returning to North Western following her husbands death Adaire and her daughter re-join her family at the Inn they run. The disappearance of a prospector who most folks believe to have been washed away in the Mohawk river doesn't sit right with Adaire espescially after she meets up with his spirit... There are secrets and twists all leading to a very entertaining listen. The book is well written and although short it is a very well told story. Cara Firestone's narration is spot on bringing the whole story to life. Highly recommended listen.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest and voluntary review.

spirit

I loved the narration of Cara Firestone, perfect for this mystery set in times gone by.

This ghost murder mystery is set in 1880s. Adair and her daughter join her family at the Inn they run. After she returns to North Western after her husbands death. When a prospector disappears people believe to have been washed away in the Mohawk river . Adair is not sure , but is certain after she meets up with his spirit... There are secrets and twists all leading to a very entertaining listen.
