About this listen

It's time to welcome new girls to Malory Towers, the famous boarding school by the sea, in four brand-new stories by outstanding authors, set in Enid Blyton's much-loved school, in its original time period.

YA and Waterstones Book Prize-winner Patrice Lawrence introduces us to proud Marietta with her magnificent head of braided hair. A dormitory argument reveals something unusual about Marietta, and something equally unexpected about Alicia.

In Guardian and Stylist columnist Lucy Mangan's story, student librarian Evelyn is wary of her lively, lacrosse-playing classmates. When one of them becomes a regular visitor to the hushed domain of the library, can Evelyn really trust her?

Sunita Sharma joins Malory Towers surrounded by a sense of mystery, in Narinder Dhami's fabulous story. But is Sunita really as glamorous as Gwendoline imagines?

In Rebecca Westcott's heartwarming story, Darrell and friends fear the worst when spoilt Gwendoline's cousin joins the school. But Maggie is very different from her stuck-up relative . . .

New Class At Malory Towers Book 13

This is a short story collection written by different Author's who have based the stories on Malory Towers that was first written by Enid Blyton. Again really written and shows the Girls in a new but different sort of time. There's quite a bit of humour happening here. Well narrated and anybody who enjoyed reading the old books plus books 7/12 will enjoy this and will indeed end up laughing out loud!

Good Sequels

These are good sequels to the original series though they do get some facts wrong as in The Secret Princess they are another male teacher where as in the originals they say that Mr Young is the only male teacher. I had low expectations of this book but it was actually brilliant. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not in keeping with the other Malory Towers

This one is quite unbelievable and overly dramatised. It was a disappointment after the first 12 books.

not as good as Enid......

poor attempt, but an attempt none the less at continuing adventures at Mallory Towers. The writers missed the mark but from an audible perspective using the same narrator really helped. I think there is a need for some of our best loved booked (that sadly have 'lost' the authors) to have someone to take up the mantle. There are so many half told tales. I'd love the Swallows and Amazon books to come to a better conclusion, not just leaving us with a sense of loss and untold adventures (Gareth Armstrong is just a brilliant narrator).
Back to this book, should there be an attempt to do more please remember that you can't muck about with the timelines or get characters to regress. Loyal readers know their characters and plots too well. Take up the literary mantle by all means but you need continuity !
