Summary

Elizabeth Bennet thought she was prepared to do anything to make the Dragon Conclave accept her beloved young dragon, Pemberley, into the Blue Order, but she had not anticipated it would leave her banished from her ancestral home and betrothed to none other than Mr. Darcy. But before Elizabeth and Darcy wed, they must find a dangerous rogue dragon before it provokes a war amongst the dragons and brings the fragile peace between dragons and mankind to a catastrophic end.

Nothing written in the annals of dragon lore has prepared Elizabeth to manage a dragon not governed by the Blue Order. Dragons have always loved her, but this one finds her arrogant, selfish, and insensitive to others. With only her instincts to guide her, she must convince the rogue of her good intentions before the Blue Order loses patience and decides on more drastic measures.

Called away to the other side of the kingdom, trying to settle the dragons' unrest, Darcy learns the nature of the force poisoning the rogue dragon against Elizabeth. One nearer and dearer than they could have imagined.

Can Elizabeth and Darcy convince with rogue dragon to cooperate before darker forces turn it against them, without destroying the fragile bonds uniting the couple?

The last volume in a great series!

The (sadly) last chapter of a fun series, proving once and for all, that everything is better with dragons!

Once again we follow the adventures of elizabeth and mr Darcy in the world of dragon-rich England.

A fun and endearing story told amazingly well by Benjamin Fife, who once again manages to personify a large cast of people and dragons with good effects and voices.

Mr Darcy and dragons: a satisfying finale

Review of audible version of this book. I love to read any Pride and Prejudice variation, so I thought I'd give this series a listen. I really enjoyed books one and two (Pemberley: Mr Darcy’s Dragon and Longbourn: Dragon Entail), but I loved book three. The tension ramps up even more in Netherfield: Rogue Dragon. There are parts that made me laugh and parts that made me tear up. This series is full of thrills, humour and love.

Brilliant

I love these books. What a brilliant idea. The mark of Maria Graces skill as a writer is that the dragons just fit into Jane Austen classic story is if they were always there. Elizabeth and Darcy are now betrothed and tasked with missions for the Blue order. Elizabeth is looking for the rogue Dragon at Netherfield Park and Darcy is looking for Wickham and Lydia. I really enjoyed the story, with its bit of mystery, emotion the world building and the characters especially the dragons. Benjamin Fife is the perfect narrator for this books with a great range, love his Dragon voices. I would happily give this book more than 5 stars and recommend highly.

Absolutely delightful!

I loved how the various series conflicts were furthered and resolved in this book. The blend of Uther Pendragon, dragon society, and Pride and Prejudice is proving to be something I have a hard time putting down. Yesterday I caught myself thinking of what particular dragons in the tale would appreciate from the store. I think I've totally immersed myself in the world that Maria Grace has created.

Astounding conclusion to this awesome trilogy

Wow! ‘Netherfield: A Rogue Dragon’, the third and final instalment of Maria Grace’s dragon trilogy set in an alternative ‘Pride and Prejudice’ universe, is just as riveting as the two previous books. Within the richly woven tapestry of dragons and dragon lore, pride and prejudice definitely abounds and creates a great many misunderstandings, but there is also mystery, intrigue, action, romance and humour. I particularly love the descriptions of the dragons’ characters, their individual quirks and their behaviour towards each other as well as towards the various humans. It is also interesting to see how the human characters are developed in different ways to suit the storyline and the various insights gained from this. Jane Austin’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is one of my favourite books and I adore dragons so was really excited to discover Maria Grace’s dragon variation trilogy. I have not been disappointed. In fact, it is true to say that my expectations have been exceeded; Maria Grace has created her own masterpiece and it is now on my list of all-time favourites.

A wonderful book is made even more enjoyable with Benjamin Fife’s fantastic narration which is consistent throughout the trilogy. His extensive vocal repertoire gives each dragon and human their own unique voice. I love them all, but am particularly fond of the voice of April, the fairy dragon.

And the good news is that Maria Grace has written a prequel to this trilogy called ‘A Proper Introduction to Dragons’ which introduces us to an eleven-year-old Elizabeth, the hatching of April and how they become friends, quite a few other dragons, more dragon lore and how Elizabeth is inducted into the Blue Order. It’s a brilliant back story and, once again, the Audible book benefits from Benjamin Fife’s superb narration.

An envoy, a rogue, and a cranky dragon together.

I loved it. An amazing story.

A missing feisty eastern dragon envoy, a foreign rogue dragon who feels threaten, and a very cranky local dragon, thrown together with three humans with differing views and another rather childish acting human; sounds like absolute chaos and very nearly was out of control. Somehow Elizabeth and the eastern envoy managed to sort everything out, without bloodshed.

Longbourn's tantrums, bad attitude and tantrums make more sense now; still doesn't make it eight though. I hope he gets the care he needs and deserves, and I sort of hope (just sort of) that Mr. Collins gets a dragon friend of his own that he can understand like he understands Kate's parrot voice.

I wonder what will happen to all the dragons and dragon friends, newly discovered and hatched, as well as previously known, as they adapt to their new lives or way of life. What about Kitty, Jane and Mr. Bingley, will they also develope the ability to hear dragons later like Lydia, and will they get dragons of their own; perhaps Netherfield Park will become a dragon estate again.
Maybe not, I don't know if there are other books that take place in the same story world as Jane Austen's 'Pride & Prejudice', that could perhaps lend themselves to follow these characters further, or if Maria Grace is planning to follow these cgaracters further at all.
But, I can hope to find out!!!

Fun read

3.5 star
This was just a fun read to end (I think) the Pride and Prejudice variation. The problems were resolved and everything was wrapped up with a pretty bow (even Lydia). I always enjoy the parts with the baby dragons and was a little sad we didn’t had that many in this book.

Amazing final installment

The final book in the trilogy was an amazing listen. Benny Fife's draconic voices are a masterpiece; the newest dragon, Netherfield, seemed to channel Andre the giant.

Maria Grace's P&P dragon series wraps up wonderfully here and leaves me champing at the bit for her Persuasion dragon series!
