Summary
A novel of terror from the Bram Stoker Award-nominated author of Pressure.
A serial kidnapper is preying upon women. He abducts them and then locks them in one of the cages dangling from the ceiling in a soundproofed basement. There, he sits quietly and just watches them, returning night after night, hoping he'll be in the room at the moment his beautiful captives finally starve to death.
Charlene and Gertie have become fast friends at the restaurant where they work. But Charlene is concerned when she hears how her co-worker spends her evenings. Gertie's cousin is one of the missing, and Gertie wanders the city streets where many of the abductions took place, using herself as bait with a high-voltage stun gun in her pocket. Charlene reluctantly offers to trail her in a car, just in case she does lure the kidnapper and things go wrong.
Unfortunately, the women find themselves the source of unwanted fame. And now, they're on the radar of a very, very dangerous man.

Entertaining
The author brings to life some seriously deranged characters. The book kept me engrossed from start to finish.

KAZ🇬🇧 UMMM 🤔 GOOD 👍 BUT 💜Twisted!!
I've heard plenty of good book's & really enjoy listening to horror stories this is definitely 1 of the most twisted sick 😷 & definitely creepy horror stories I've heard in god know's how long The character's are good you actually feel for the poor women who are kidnapped & held hostage by a very sick 🤢 disturbed serial killer who stalk's them before playing at being a nice guy He's definitely not they underestimate him to there horror he actually like's to to cage them & watch them slowly die of starvation shudder's as I write this truly disturbing storyline Ohh & huge spoiler alert here he's also a married man but when his wife find's out he's not actually killing them right away she start's getting involved that's really really sick she's not put off in the way a normal person would be like say going to the police nope not for her lol 🤣 she's actually a serial killer as well & to top it all of they then include the son 😳 It's a great book I'd definitely recommend but be aware before you get this audiobook It's gruesome It's a solid 4+ out of 5 for creep factor alone gonna have nightmare's after this sleeping with light's on tonight lol 😂 Will be trying other book's by this author Huge THANK YOU 💙👍😃

Great book, enhanced by fantastic narration.
Had the ebook and upgraded to the audiobook version.
although id already read it, I decided to listen to it on my commute to work.
Just as good second time around.
Cant go far wrong with Jeff Strand. Always fun, although this one is a littlle more twisted.
No complaints. Ha.

Twisted
Great suspense in this psychological drama. A determined young woman seeks her cousin, who missing, and that leads her into a cat and mouse game with a killer who likes to watch his victims slowly die. I can only imagine the terror these young women feel. The book is only 5 hours long, and I felt it could have been a five-star rating with a little more time to get into psyche of the dying women. The narrator did a good job and delivered a clear, professional recording.
