Summary

First published in 1907, My Life as an Indian is the memoir of James Willard Schultz and tells the story of his first year living with the Pikuni tribe in Montana. It includes accounts of religious customs and ceremonies, hunting, raids, food preparation, child-rearing and more, and is thus of great interest to anthropologists and students of Native American history.

Very poorly read

Absolutely terrible narration just sounds like a computer program saying individual words and not like someone reading complete sentences so do yourself a favour and listen to a clip to see if you can tolerate it

Horrible narrator

This might have been a good story, but the narrator butchered it. He midprounced most of the local names. It was excruciatingly hard to listen to his reading

Beautiful story, horrendous narration

There’s got to be a better performance of this book out there. Find it and enjoy.

Robot Voice

Loving the book but its sad that such a descriptive beautiful book is read by someone that seems bored and robotic.

Narrator was poor

Narrator had no clue how to pronounce words and used slang not appropriate for the context of this story

Pretty good

I wanted to get through this as fast as possible. The man reading had excellent diction so I could understand what he was saying and read along even after putting it at such a fast speed. I thought the book was interesting, so I’m happy.

Narrator has to go

I can’t stand listening to the natrzator. Story moves ver slow. I was looking for experience and knowledge of the Indian people
