Summary
Beleaguered chief of police Arly Hanks has her hands full when modern technology moves into small town Maggody, bringing with it controversy and murder. Maggody's high school has a new computer lab. Folks are calling the internet the Devil's workshop, but the adult computer class is filling up. Soon friends are exchanging E-mail, and the preacher is posting sermon notes. But when some mighty unusual images flash across monitors--and a pretty computer student is found dead in an abandoned shack--the town demands Arly find the answers. With tempers flaring and rumors raging, it will take all of Arly's low-tech resourcefulness to find the cold-blooded killer.

Maggody is worth the read
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Have you listened to any of C. J. Critt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. It was a little difficult to realize that the murder victim was a youngster, but as her character developed later in the book, it made it more palatable. As for the performer, she is excellent. She has her characters well developed, although Ruby B seems to have more of a Bronx accent than your local Arkansas dialect. Overall
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listen to these as I commute, so this would not be possible, but I certainly looked forward to each new listen.

Quirky Hit
A witty farce; full of ingeniously crafted quirky caricatures. Amusing and bright, her story is liberally infused with mad flights of small town southern fancy - set within a nice little mystery.

Hmmm, I never give up on books, but this one was a huge let down, hard going, annoying narration and a unbelievably poor plot, i really could not recommend this book to anyone other than the brain dead. If you buy it, good luck, you will need it!
