CAN YOU SOLVE THE CASE?

Eighteen passengers. Seven stops. One killer.

In the early hours of Christmas Eve, the sleeper train to the Highlands is derailed, along with the festive plans of its travellers. With the train stuck in snow in the middle of nowhere, a killer stalks its carriages, picking off passengers one by one. Those who sleep on the sleeper train may never wake again.

Can former Met detective Roz Parker find the killer before they kill again?

All aboard for . . . Murder on the Christmas Express.

'The perfect book to read on a train . . . A thrilling journey from start to finish. Highly recommended' ELLY GRIFFITHS

'It’s wonderful! A page-turning homage to the Golden Age, with a dash of Poirot and a dark, modern heart' S J BENNETT

disappointed

I had bought the book and was really excited to read it but didn't get the chance so I bought it on audible, it was roughly 29 or so chapters in before there was anything exciting happened then it was a long and dreary road to the ending unfortunately not one of my best reads.

Ok

An ok detective yarn, though delivered in a bit of a flat way by narrator and includes some clunky dialogue …

Not A Cosy Mystery - R*pe Warning

This book is OK and the narration is fine but this isn't a cosy Christmas murder
mystery. Murder is a secondary theme to rape and sexual assault. From very early on there is discussion of trauma and its effects, this continues for multiple characters throughout the book. There are circumstances under which books should
perhaps contain warnings and this is one. It is a potentially painful and distressing listen to survivors. Confusing at times with the number of characters, no real atmosphere established.

Modern with the heart of a classic

Well written modern mystery with a classic feel. A clear tribute to Agatha Christie. A little slow getting there but story moves forwards and compels you with it.

On dear. What a disappointment.

No where near as good as the author's previous book. Agatha Christie has nothing to worry about. The story was similar to Murder on the Orient Express: a train marooned in the snow so the murderer had to be someone on board, one of the passengers was a retired police officer. The plot was far fetched although clearly trying to raise awareness of rape, abuse and the potential evils of social media. There were too many clumsy attempts at metaphors and similes and introspection and too much repetition. More than one of the relationships between the characters was implausible. The plot dragged at times with too much padding. It wasn't clear if the narrator was aiming to be Scottish or Irish.

Great story telling

Bit dark at points, difficult subjects addressed Lovely Scottish accents and a great Christmas ending.

Not bad

I thought this story would be as good as the others by this author, it isn't by a long way. much darker than their other stories with a heavy story line (Rape) overshadowing other storylines; the Christmas part is pretty much incidental.

Okay story let down by errors

Please will someone stop authors writing about Scotland when they know NOTHING about it? The basic storyline of this is okay, but the constant errors that crop up make it rather irritating. No Scot would ever refer to ‘plaid’ when they know it’s tartan and don’t get me started on them ordering ‘scotch’. The mixing of Scots slang from different areas is also annoying; it’s like the author felt like she needed to add local colour and picked words at random.

good murder mystery, emotional triggers involved.

the story was very good with believable characters but honestly I probably would not have bought it had I known that rape was featured heavily. I like a more cozy crime.

Should come with trigger warning

Good story overall but I think I found it hard as I wish there was a trigger warning that popped up before purchase.

Strong talk of domestic abuse and take throughout so I did struggle to listen.
