Enjoyable yarn

I really enjoyed this, and like the regular characters. Without giving anything away, I wish the ending had been more comprehensive.

A Cosy Christmas Murder at Champton!

I usually avoid Christmas novellas as they’re shorter and usually lack the gusto of the main series. Rev. Richard packs all the classic hallmarks of his Canon Clement books into this short story though and I was taken back to childhood Christmases in the early 90s listening to this!

If you’ve not read the first novel, the nuances of the individual characters won’t be obvious in this book but if you have, you’ll feel like you’re in the room attempting to enjoy Christmas at the Rectory.

Thank you for this gorgeous little taste of Champton (and bread sauce!).

Intriguing listen

Nicely written around all the comings and goings of life in the church. A really pleasant read. Thank you. Off to find another by The Reverend now

Humour, well delivered

Felt a bit short changed on this one. Very short for 1 credit. The story was quite evocative of a rural Christmas with well observed idiosyncrasies by Rev Coles, the humour of Audrey's approach to the world around her as always raising a smile. But we have come to expect Daniel and Neal to be involved in solving crime where this story simply left us with an obvious crime having been committed and the obvious perpetrator, but no investigative action. I also rather thought Rev Coles "padded out" this story with a lot of religious content, not always contributing greatly to the story. Overall though a pleasant , seasonal listen.

Fabulous as always from Richard Coles

A great festive story with the usual excellent characterisation and subtlety you'd expect from Richard Coles. Highly recommended.

Good story but ….

Very good story as usual with Rev Coles, but this one was very short for the money paid. I felt it could have had a more intriguing storyline if thought about a bit more.

Is that it?

Had high expectations but it wasn’t well read, a bit flat. It was pretty obvious who and how. Ended abruptly.
