Hard to stop listening
Great story from the outset, one of those you know within 10 minutes you are going to really enjoy. Characters are all great and you begin to quickly believe in each of them as genuine and believable people, even Mr Mercedes himself. There are no paranormal elements in this book at all, which Stephen King is obviously best known for. This was what drew to listen to the book, I was interested to see how that worked out and all I can say that it worked out very well indeed. I believe this may be part 1 of a planned trilogy and it would be great to go back to these superb characters for another story how ever this book has definite ending which does not leave you waiting for the story to complete in the next instalment.

A superbly gripping story read by the best.
Outstanding narration makes this thrilling story of twisted humanity v flawed protagonists truly come alive - King at his best.
Highly recommended.

Good listen
Really enjoyed the narrator who read the book and apart from the ending which was a bit weak (but it's the journey that counts) another fine story from Mr King.

Gripping.
I do love Stephen Kings Thrillers. He’s such an amazing writer. Not many can make you feel sympathy for a serial killer like he does. And the fantastic WillPatton as narrator makes this a book not to be missed.

Excellent crime page turner
A very well crafted novel with engaging characters and edge of your seat menace. The plot raced toward a reasonably predictable ending but did it with such warmth and pace that it made me sad to finish it.

Excellent
This is my favourite Stephen King novel of his newest ones. His characters are so well drawn you can clearly see them. The story is brilliant right to the end. King has an amazing ability to describe the deviant mind. The voice actor was perfect for the story.

Brilliant
This is the second audio book I've listened to. First of the trilogy, fantastic story through out. I loved the ending. Will Patton narrates brilliantly, changing his pitch and tones to suit the characters. Overall amazing 👏

A great start to a trilogy
I listened to this after finding it was linked to The Outsider novel that I had recently enjoyed.
I have to say it is one of Kings best and was refreshing to see he can hold a great crime story as well as a horror one. I left that I enjoyed my time with all the characters even the killer and it was a rollercoaster ride (even though I knew were it was all going due to The Outsider giving a recap on the trilogy).
