Summary
Twenty-four-year-old Catherine Fellingham keeps a low profile - in society and in her family. A practical young woman, she leaves the spotlight to her beautiful younger sister and prefers quiet pursuits such as reading. But all that changes the moment she learns of her mother’s very excellent scheme to keep the family out of debtors’ prison. The scatter-brained Lady Fellingham has been selling commissions in the king’s army, and Catherine must shake off her indifference in order to save her family from a potentially ruinous scandal. Lady Arabella, her mother’s partner-in-crime, readily agrees to abandon the plan but only because she finds a more absorbing project: nabbing a husband for Catherine.
Catherine pays no head to her ladyship’s lavish claim that she’ll have her engaged by the end of the season, but that’s before she overhears Arabella instructing the handsome nonpareil, the Marquess of Deverill, to flirt outrageously with her and bring her into fashion. Mortified, Catherine resolves not to be taken in by the charming marquess's cruel game - and even implements a very excellent scheme of her own. This sensible young lady seems to have everything well in hand. Or is she about to learn that her heart is a great deal less practical than her head?

Juvenile
Misunderstandings abound and I lost patience with the heroine. The narrator did well with mediocre material. Not my favourite Lynn Messina.

Sweet Clean Romance
The main character is a bit of a blue stocking who deserves better than her family has given her. Underdog becomes the heroine.

An entertaining story
I enjoyed listening to Jill Smith as she narrates how Catherine gets involved in awkward situations and tries to solve them. A very pleasurable book, and on my lists of books to listen to again.

Delightful!
Another fun romance by this amazing storyteller!
She thought she was past finding love. In her sixth season, tall and feeling she had nothing to recommend her, she overheard a scheme by her mother’s best friend to get a gentleman to pay her attention
Well sometimes a scheme turns into true regard and the journey to love takes off!!
Perfect narration and wonderful ending!

Jane Austin Style Regency Romance
I really enjoyed this story, it's fully a romance but it is a clean one. It's on level with the Beatrice Hyde Clare books but minus the mystery element. Truly a great choice if you're a fan of Jane Austin and the regency genre.
The narrator is amazing as always with great voice differentiation and top-notch acting skills.

Miss Fellingham's Rebellion
As with other works by this author, the reactions and personalities of the side characters are pushed into the territory of the delightfully absurd. This allows the reader to laugh frequently throughout, yet remain grounded in the serious problems being addressed in the main plot. The narration is pleasant and smooth, with good distinction between character voices. The book kept me fully engaged such that I was disappointed when it was over.
I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
