Robert, Duke of Pondleigh, already has one curse, so what’s another one? Or two? If only these things involved fighting monsters - or even being turned into one - he’d be fine. But attempting to force him into marrying the woman who nearly killed him by cursing him to either gain a lady’s kiss each day or become a frog simply isn’t gentlemanly.

No one told her the most important law of the court - the law of greeting. If they had, maybe she wouldn't have greeted Bluebeard when he arrived to claim a mortal wife. And if she hadn't greeted him, she wouldn't have become his 16th wife or been swept away to the lands of the Wittenhame. But if none of that had happened, then she wouldn't have been an integral part of the game that takes place every 200 years - a game that determines the fates of nations.

Summary
Every curse must have an end.
Belinda Lambton knows a curse when she sees one. She also knows the wisdom of agreeing with a powerful enchantress. So when she inadvertently gets mixed up with a cursed Beast and his enchantress, she finds herself tasked with the role of Curse Breaker. That’s not an easy position, for Beast has reasons of his own to keep his curse. There’s also someone else determined to break it by whatever means possible and claim Beast for herself, and she doesn’t take competition well.
With wit, clean romance, and a touch of danger, Midnight for a Curse is a retelling of the beloved Beauty and the Beast tale.

Fresh take on Beauty and the Beast
Sometimes it seems really hard to find a new take on beloved fairytales, but this author definitely pulled it off! I certainly enjoyed her take on it, from how the magic and curses worked and came to be, to the familiar elements of the Beastly Prince, and Belle's hidden name in the heroine's (Belinda). I loved the humor and witty banter between Belinda and the Beast, as well as their slowly developing sweet romance. Also, while the library and reading were a given, it still surprised me how much the author's love for literature shone through (it definitely added a nice touch). I loved the setting of the castle, gardens, and villages, and even though the world took me a bit to understand at the beginning, it all added up beautifully.
The narrator did a pretty great job with the voices. I especially loved her Beastly voice as well as Belinda's, and those of the household staff. The saccharine-sweet ones were on point, and she also nailed pretty much all the nuances (from worry to anger, grumpy, devious, happy, excited, and everything in between). Still, there were times where the voices could sound the same during certain parts of conversations (even between Belinda and the Beast), but they were short and didn't pull me (too much) from the story.
Overall, a great Beauty and the Beast retelling that mixes all the beloved elements along with the author's own take on it. Recommended to fans of the author, as well as people looking for a Clean/sweet romance full of witty banter and characters that grow on you. ~ 4.5 stars

A fairy tale ending or a twist in the tale
I enjoyed this retelling of beauty and the beast. You think you know the story well guess again, as the author has added some charming twists to the usual tale. The main difference is Beast is happy the way he is, content with his books and the peace and quite. He doesn't want the curse broken but has to propose to a lady everyday, this leads to some highly amusing and clever proposal and witty dialogue. As well as a few fight scenes. You know the characters and although different still very much likeable. I would listen to more books by this author.
To get away from a very persistent mans advances Belinda begs for help from the only other person in the forest on that particular day. A cursed man, but just who is he under all that fur? An enchantress has put a curse on him and until her learns a lesson the curse can not be broken. The problem is the beast is content with his life and it is now up to Belinda to make him realise what he is missing or at least make him care about someone else. The curse is connected to a rose and as each petal calls down so does his time.
I liked the narrator and thought she really helped to bring this magical take to life.

The best version of the Beast.
Not only does this Beast love to read he was actually cursed for getting angry he was interrupted while reading. A perfectly justified reason to be angry, in my opinion.
I really love how this Beast is such a decent person dispute putting on airs of rudeness. He does have some flaws to work out, and his arc is beautifully written.
Belinda, our beauty, is also an amazing character, she is very much a protagonist, choosing to act in this story, rather then let it sweep her along.
Katherine Anderson narrates splendidly, giving each character a unique sound. It was so entertaining hearing the witty banter between Beast and Belinda brought to life.
This highly original retelling is a must for anyone who loves Beauty and the Beast.

Good one!
I love retelling of classic stories, Midnight for a Curse is a Beauty and the Beast retelling. the author did a great job taking some classic detail from the fairytale, the cursed beast and a rose losing petals, and created her only story of trickery and intrigue. Belinda has her own agenda in trying to help break the beast’s curse.

Absolutely wonderful
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have to admit, I'm not normally a fan of beauty and the beast stories, but this one did an excellent job of using it in a new way. I found the characters likeable and interesting and I loved watching them fall in love and see deeper into their thoughts and motivations. Honestly the only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't more to the story. I'd like to get to know the side characters more and see more the world. But I guess I'll get that when I read the next book!
