Sweet but dull
It is romantic and at times thought provoking. Easy listening.
The narrator has a sweet yet monotone voice which didn't help warm me to the very basic lead character. Male voices performed in the story are quite cringe and took me out of it.
Not much happens in the story and unfortunately I am not compelled to read the next books.
I would recommend this to young readers. Perhaps 8-11 years old.

Generic Futuristic Waste of Time
I can see how people who read this might have been swept along with the dystopian mystery of “The Society” but listening to this book is a different matter entirely. The one note reading highlights all of the flaws in this story and the make the main character completely unlikable. The world building is vague at best and illogical at its worst. The authorities are stupid, the relationships contrived and forced, the characters one dimensional and unlikable (with cookie cutter “futuristic” names that clearly were not researched and only used because they sounded good). I struggled to keep listening to this because such a good concept, that of pairing people to mate based on statistics, was completely wasted on a story full of inconsistencies with infuriating missed opportunities! So, I’m not sure if you can tell, but I did not like it.

Amazing!
This is one of my favourite books but this is my first time listening on audio. The narrator really does it justice and I was hooked even though I already know the story.
The story is so emotional and involving, and the characters are so believable. I love it.

good story, bad reader
the story was good but the music that kept playing was really irritating as well as the drastic voices for the messages and the brother

Good Book
At frist it was hard to get into but once you get to know the characters and love them the way that the writer wants you to love them its like you can't put it down. Absolutely enjoyed this book.

A dystopian love story
A bit slow at first but bare with it. It's an interesting love affair where a young girl tries to find her self in a dictatorship society.

Gentle and Poetic
I loved the story, the characters and the pace and I don't really understand how other readers/ listeners would find it boring. This is not a thriller and it's not fast paced. But the story is captivating and relevant. How much do you agree with society telling you what's best for you?
At first I thought the narrators voice would be unsuitable and annoying, but it turned out to be pleasantly gentle and matched the characters nicely. This is allegedly 'Teenage Fiction' but I rather enjoyed it, in my forties. Looking forward to the following book.

Has potential but mainly boring
This story has so much potential yet it's a let down. The characters are all pretty boring and the story starts well but my interest was lost half way through listening.

A little to long, and to much unecessary details.
The reader was awsome! I loved the way she talked like a man, and then like a women. But i would have liked it better with a little more music that fits the theme.
