Summary

How many words do we use when we speak? According to some publications, while a two-year-old baby uses around 200 words, a beginner in any language needs around 2,000 to communicate. And an expert user can employ up to 40,000! But knowing words and their meanings is hardly enough.

If you want to learn Spanish to actually use it, be it for traveling, working, or studying, you need to really master your vocabulary. You need to know synonyms, you need to know which prepositions are used next to which verbs, and how words change their meaning in different contexts.

In this audiobook, we offer a comprehensive list of the 3,000 most frequent words of the Spanish language, according to the Real Academia Española, Spain's official royal institution dedicated to the Spanish language. We did not just include the words and their meanings, but also eventual indications for you to understand the use of the word since translations are otherwise incomplete.

For example, we indicate if it’s a masculine or feminine word, if it’s a plural word, and if it belongs to a verbal tense that does not translate literally into English. Additionally, we indicate if the word has more than one meaning, so you can avoid confusion. And, of course, for each word we include a practical example - a sentence that, in a few words, tells a story and helps you understand how the word is used in the real Spanish-speaking world.

By the time you’re finished with this audiobook, your vocabulary will be comparably better, richer, and wider. Ready to give it a go? Start right away! You’ll feel the difference...and everyone else will notice, too!

It is very complete and interesting.

The vocabulary is organized by categories such as language or themes. The surveys are easy to pair with the subject matter, somewhat than merely being casual vocabulary words.

This audiobook is great.

Not only does it provide you sentences that are not clear with the most commonly used words, but it also has the nouns and verbs split towards the end so if you want to practice the most used verbs you can with comfort. Really great guide!!!

Great learning tool

It's impossible to listen to this from start to finish unless you are already very good at Spanish. What I did is listen to a chunk of 20 words at a time. I repeated each chunk a few time and refered to the pdf file until I can memorize most of that chunk. Then I moved on to the next one.

Logically Great !

This audio is a great source for those wanting to learn Spanish vocabulary concentrated on certain topics. Each Chapter has its own area of focus like travel or politics and the vocabulary is very helpful to learn.

Interesting audiobook..!!!

My father is learning Spanish, so I purchased this to learn random phrases that I can revert to his ad nauseam. One of them is vino Tinto.

A comprehensive guide

A complete guide for Spanish learners. The thematic method of the material makes it much easier to jump into Spanish without feeling boring. Sure you could find most of the knowledge contained in this audiobook online but not in the same format or method.

knowledge of Spanish

I have upwards of 30 phrasebooks, dictionaries, and usage guides, and this Mastering Spanish word is the best of them all. You accept vocabulary that is placed in groups such as Health, Government, Travel, Shopping, and many more, and then the vocabulary word is put into a penalty or two for you to see and hear in your head how the word is used. This audiobook is a must-add to anyone's Spanish of knowledge.

This book is a great value.

I do love how the audiobook is organized by a place you might use the words. I am never questioning when I might use a phrase or statement, like with Duolingo: I am not a penguin. (Though, I don't withdraw Duolingo.)
