About this listen

This is a dramatized account of what happens in the poem, embellished by lots of music and sound effects, barking dogs, crickets, chickens, horses galloping and so on. I was disappointed because I expected an audio version of the actual poetry. The number of narrators listed should have alerted me. However, they did a good job in a style which is a bit too dramatically exaggerated, for my taste. Jose Hernandez's beautiful poem is written in the language of a gaucho of the 19th Century, and I hope to find 'the real thing' to listen to, some day.
