Summary
War is fleeting, but true love last forever...
May 1944
Hope and excitement is in the air when news breaks of the allied forces landing in Normandy. D Day has arrived. However, the day-to-day struggles for the Tobacco Girls continue.
Carole Thomas wants her old life back. She is burdened with the guilt of being a young single mother and considers having baby Paula adopted, but Maisie Miles will do anything to stop her.
Phyllis Mason having found the love of her life is getting married in Malta to Mick Fairbrother, but will the dangerous legacies of war plague her happy day?
Bridget O’Neill finds herself posted to one of the hospitals receiving the injured from the D-Day landing beaches. Her most fervent hope is that her husband, Lyndon, does not become one of them.
Peace is on the horizon, but will their wishes and dreams win through and bring them a happy ever after?

brilliant
through this series, I've grown to love these girls. really makes you realise what life was like for ordinary people during the war and what strength it took to get through those times. Anne Dover's narration is also wonderful.

Easy listening
I really enjoy the stories of the “3 M’s” but the narrator makes them sound like a bunch of octogenarians!

Still enjoyable, roll on the next book!
Just when you think things are coming to a conclusion there’s more twists, turns and an exciting change on the horizon for Bridget!
I have to admit I’m much more invested in Bridget and Maisie than the other characters but each to their own eh?!

Great In-depth writing about life during WWII.
I love how the author writes about things that were going on during the war, that you might not consider. I’ve enjoyed the series and hope for another book about the 2 M’s.

Great Series
I have really enjoyed this series. I hope the author will do one more to show how the girls are doing when the war is over.
