About this listen
In this next searing tale of the Immortals After Dark Series, #1 New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole delves deeper into the mysterious Clan MacRieve, a family tormented by ancient agonies and forbidden wolven hungers.
Uilleam MacRieve, a centuries-old Lykae warrior, was captured, caged, and experimented on by a shadowy human order, along with other immortals. During a prison break that devolved into one of the bloodiest massacres in recent history, he escapes. But the aftermath of his unspeakable torture preys on his damaged mind, while the wolf inside him roars for vengeance and carnage. In the days leading up to the full moon, can MacRieve rein in his beast, even when he encounters his mate - a vexingly impossible female unlike anything he'd ever dreamed for himself?

Amazing
If you could sum up Macrieve in three words, what would they be?
Dark, dangerous and hot
What was one of the most memorable moments of Macrieve?
The most memorable moment, in my opinion was the scene where he was burning down the cottage in the woods and Chloe found him. The way he opened himself up, allowed himself to be completely vulnerable and showed his emotions made my heart break and speed up at the same time lol.
Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I've never heard anything read by Robert Petkoff before but after listening to him read Macrieve.....wow, I'll definitely be listening to more of his audio readings. He made me shiver with his gorgeous scots accent. It sounded completely natural. ( And as a scot myself, I've heard a few attempts that just don't pass muster!!!!) Needless to say ill be buying the rest of Kresley Cole's Immortals after dark to hear him read.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh yes..couldn't concentrate on my work!!! Couldn't wait to get home and listen to more!
Any additional comments?
I would definitely recommend this audio both for the story and the narrator. I'm so glad I found it! Will certainly be one of my favourites.

Love this narrator
The first time I read this series, I didn’t realize that most books’ conflict centers around the MCs’ prejudice against each other’s kind. It didn’t bug me before but listening to them back to back has really highlighted it.
They’re 2 good characters but I just couldn’t get that into this story. Having said that, I really felt for Chloe after the disastrous end to her first time.
The narrator, though, is spectacular as ever.

Possibly my fav of this series
I've not listened/read all of the series or even read them in the right order but i think this was the best I've heard so far. I think it might be good to listen in order but in my opinion it's not necessary. I really love the narrator except every time he said arse it sounded weird, that really is the best complaint I can come up with regarding him :-P I liked the characters and the story and found myself empathising and wanting them to be happy, wasn't overly predictable unlike many romances all in all worth a credit.

Awesome
Loved this book. It's in my top five of the IAD series. Uilleam, the hero is a Lykae with a tortured past and I just loved him. Chloe, the heroine was spunky and I loved their relationship. At times the hero was a right douche, but knowing what he'd been through made it forgivable. Chloe was a strong heroine who took no crap and stood up for herself. The humour had me in stitches in parts. Malcolm Slaine also makes an appearance and since he's my number one favourite hero of this series, that made it even better for me.
As always Robert Petkoff was incredible. I love all the character voices he does but the Lykae ones are just amazing. Love a Scottish accent. He's without a doubt my favourite Audible narrator.

Excellent!!!
What made the experience of listening to Macrieve the most enjoyable?
Robert Petkoff is just a brilliant narrator, his mastery of different accents and individual voices is just amazing and he actually sounds like he is enjoying the book as well!!
What did you like best about this story?
Very imaginative, excellent description of people and places but not too much.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh very definitely!
Any additional comments?
I love Kresley Cole books I have them all and decided to try the audio version. I enjoyed this more than reading out of a book.

I wish this was my favourite
3.5 stars I mostly enjoyed this but it was rough in spots. I liked the banter between Chloe and Will and the tender if strained relationship between Will and Munro. But everything else between the couple just didn't hit for me the way I desperately wanted it to.

A Mixed Bag!
First the positives; the narration by Robert Petkoff is a joy. He really captures the voice of the author and the intonation of the characters. He's one of the best narrators I've heard.
The characters are likeable with a funny and feisty Chloe and a gorgeous hunk of lychae in Will.
The problem is, as others have suggested, there isn't much action going on except of the 'bedroom kind' (euphemism!) and it feels like that has been substituted for plot.
Also not enough Valkyries - you can never have enough of them.
Overall, ok if you want to follow the overarching series plot but it's not on my read again list.
