a mixed bag

bit of a mixed bag here some of the short stories are brilliant, and a pleasure to listen to. Others were not so good and were a challenge to listen to.

Mixed but generally good collection

As with most collections like this, the stories varied from really good to forgettable. Nothing stood out as bad but it is long and I did feel if I listened to a few at a time they did seem to bleed into one another. The narrator was solid with exception of the odd dodgy accent. Personally I like collections of stories to mix up the narrator's a little. All in all,

would recommend, credit well spent.

Excellent collection of stories

Some really good stories that capture the imagination. My first introduction to Lovecraft monsters and certainly worth the wait.

Wish I could rate the stories separately

There are some really good stories in here and some definitely not so much.

A great collection of dark tales

we live on a placid island of ignorance, in a black sea of infinity... and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

Having said this - you will certainly voyage fat whilst listening to this darkly engrossing collection of lovecraft inspired tales! I couldn't put this down!!

Mixed goodie-bag

Lovely Lovecraft anthology of present day writers, who all add their own flavour to the mythos. Well read, with fitting vocal variations to fit the individual story.

stories outrun the narration

the stories are great but the narration is flat & somnolent & causes one to zone out.

A bit hit and miss.

Some excellent and disturbing stories and narration but also Some rather tedious and overwritten rubbish.

Mixed collection of imaginative short stories.

Some stories are much better than others but the narration remains brilliant throughout. Have recommended based on the strength of some individual stories.

mediocre and samey.

some of the stories were ok. but most were predictable and some poorly written. the claim that it's by Neil gaiman is false. he just wrote the first short story. quite good but short. some of the others were dire, some just a joke. the narration was less than inspiring and some of the accents were hilariously bad.
