Summary
John Griffith "Jack" London was an American author, journalist, and social activist. He was a pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction and was one of the first fiction writers to obtain worldwide celebrity and a large fortune from his fiction alone. Some of his most famous works include The Call of the Wild and White Fang, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush, as well as the short stories "To Build a Fire", "An Odyssey of the North", and "Love of Life". He also wrote of the South Pacific in such stories as "The Pearls of Parlay" and "The Heathen" and of the San Francisco Bay area in The Sea Wolf. London was a passionate advocate of unionization, socialism, and the rights of workers and wrote several powerful works dealing with these topics, such as his dystopian novel The Iron Heel.
This collection includes "Love of Life", "A Day's Lodging", "The White Man's Way", "The Story of Keesh", "The Unexpected", "Brown Wolf", "The Sun-Dog Trail", and "Negore, the Coward".

Timeless
What a storyteller he was. They have a touch of the old Gàidhlig folk tales to them. Excellently narrated by a wonderful storyteller too. Highly recommend.

Beautiful
I really enjoyed these stories, which were told with a lot of insight. The narrator's voice was so melodic, at times I was enjoying the sound and forgetting to listen.

Master of the short story
Nobody does the short story form better than London. His tales of survival in brutal conditions are compelling. Who else could write about outwitting a Polar Bear or Wolf? And this is where the 'love of life' of the title comes from; the desire and need to do whatever is necessary to survive.
The narrator is a perfect match thanks to his warm gravely voice. Felt like I was sat around a campfire - thankfully one without any predators lurking nearby...

Nice mini stories
This author was recommended by a friend, and has a cool name, when my friend read these books as a young boy they became the reason he wanted travel.
I liked the mini stories and the odd topics, where you have to think a bit too. All stories are set in the cold brrr. Definitely implying a wanderers world.
