Ambitious ice queen and corporate lawyer Felicity Simmons has spent her life focused on one thing: scuttling up the career ladder. She's achingly close to taking charge of a media empire for her boss when she's sent to investigate a South Bronx charity that helps homeless people's pets. Has the charity made off with her boss's generous donation? And, who on earth is that gorgeous soft-butch veterinarian who looks as if she could toss a Shetland pony over one shoulder? Six-foot-three. Dynamic green eyes. Utterly irresistible. Ethan Everest stole my breath the first time I saw him. He romanced me with skill, dazzled me with his charisma, and proceeded to steal my heart right after. I might have fallen for his easy-going smile the first time we met, but I fell for him the second time. Honey-colored hair. Cherry-kissed lips. Captivatingly gorgeous. Singer Davis was the first, and only, woman to ever intimidate me. She spoke to my heart with her wit, seduced me with her eyes, and became the only thing that made sense in a world that made none.

Overall great listen!
I enjoyed listening to this book! I liked the chemistry between the main characters and found the secondary characters just as intersting and funny. The author had a way of bring out the emotions of the character that I found refreshing. The narration made it worth while. The plot itself was nothing new but it didnt drag on or get annoying. Overall. thisbwas a great book. was my first from the author but certainly wont be the last!

Too much bourbon, uneven performance
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This author obviously loves bourbon and drinking in general. It seemed a bit overemphasized in my opinion. Generally, the story went well but I found the uneven performances a bit jarring - one voice is low and sultry, and the other sound rather chirpy. I don't see these two voices getting together.
Would you be willing to try another book from S.W. Andersen? Why or why not?
Sure, I'd give this author another shot.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene when they get caught in the rain - sexy and funny.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes, probably.

nice story..
overall another nice romance. I appreciated the side characters and the focus around repsecting others in a relationship.
the narrator voice for Peyton was cringe worthy though. I kept listening because of the story. if it had started form Peyton's view with that narrator voice I probably wouldn't have listened to the book at all.

This was my first book by this author, but it may not be the one and only. I really enjoyed the dancing around of the emotions the characters shared, building up to the awesome sex. I just hope there’ll be more of Paton & Cassie, they deserve a series. Just sayin.
