Summary
As seen on the Netflix documentaries Minimalism and Less Is Now.
How might your life be better with less?
Imagine a life with less: less stuff, less clutter, less stress and debt and discontent - a life with fewer distractions. Now, imagine a life with more: more time, more meaningful relationships, more growth and contribution and contentment - a life of passion, unencumbered by the trappings of the chaotic world around you. What you're imagining is an intentional life. And to get there, you'll have to let go of some clutter that's in the way.
In Love People, Use Things, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus move past simple decluttering to show how minimalism makes room to re-evaluate and heal the seven essential relationships in our lives: stuff, truth, self, money, values, creativity and people. They use their own experiences and those of the people they have met along the minimalist journey to provide a template for how to live a fuller, more meaningful life.
Because once you have less, you can make room for the right kind of more.
Critic reviews
"The Minimalists show you how to disconnect from our conditioned material state and reconnect to our true essence: love people and use things. This is not a book about how to live with less, but about how to live more deeply and more fully." (Jay Shetty, number one New York Times best-selling author of Think Like a Monk)

Get out and stay out of DEBT
(Dave Ramsey Show & baby steps are helpful)

Wasn't what i was expecting
Would of preferred hearing much more from Ryan, thought it would be similar to the great podcasts talking between each other and sharing the narration, but felt more like I was listening to a long story/journal memories which wasn't what I expected.
Some helpful tips dotted throughout but overall learnt more from their films and other books.

The Preface Stops You In Your Tracks
Well July 13th, - here we are awaiting the drop! The Minimalist Love People Use Things has arrived - Yeah!
Lets get going no time to review because I am transfixed with the opener will review once digested, regurgitated and then re-ingested.
See you on the other side of what has started as an epic sequence of well crafted ideas and offers s a novel grasp of the links between everyday life and the necessity of LESS.

I was hooked by the delivery and the rawness of the authors
I liked the premise of it, I appreciate a good “lecture” because I love learning and hearing from others. I also liked the fact that both men contributed to the book and shared their stories so freely. Most importantly it has reminded me of what is truly important and to dedicate my life to seeking it, nurturing and being grateful for it 🤍
Thanks Josh and Ryan

Perfect perfect perfect
As humans it’s our instinct to focus on more, more of everything. More money, more food, more “likes” more clothes, more shoes MORE STUFF.
But can I tempt you with less, less anxiety, less stress less clutter, less debt, less toxicity.
If so then this book is well worth a read or a listen.
Being a minimalist means way more than decluttering your wardrobe or closet it’s about quality over quantity in every capacity.
As we’re still in the 1st quarter of 2023 this is a great book to kick off the year with.

Practical advice on a world that's lost its way.
Been a long time "consumer" of the Minimalists and this latest book doesn't fail to deliver. Simple guidance provided in bite size chunks with humility and honesty. Great pocket book of practicality.

The minimalists evolving story
Not the first content creation of The Minimalists that I have picked up so I have heard much of this before. So class this as a revision aid on the subject rather than a totally new subject. Always thought provoking and asking me to consider what and who I am hanging on to and in Marie Kondo style ask myself what brings me joy and what is toxic that needs to go its own way. The honesty around areas such as addiction from the authors is a great insight to learn from. but naturally you take only as much away from this as you need to for your own life otherwise you would be living theirs not hour's.

Some fabulous tips, a bit too preachy in delivery for me
There is no doubt there is a lot to prompt thinking and for you to reflect on here, but the delivery is too preachy for me. The section on relationships bear the end - where one of the authors advances a list of traits that contribute to a toxic relationship - is far too linear and simplistic.
So much so, it made me question the validity of the rest of the ideas in the book I had listened to. Would have been a four star book but for this.
