About this listen

Two lives. Two families. One tragedy.Lauren Scott is bright, talented and beautiful. At eighteen, she is the most precious gift in the world to her mother, and has a dazzling career ahead of her. Oliver Lomax is a young man full of promise, despite the shadow his own, deeply troubled, mother casts over him. Then one fateful night, Oliver makes a decision that tears their worlds apart.

Until then Lauren and Oliver had never met, but now they become so closely bound together that their families are forced to confront truths they hoped they'd never have to face, secrets they'd never even imagined...

Just brilliant

Totally emotional, especially as a parent but, equally brilliant, loved it. Extremely well narrated, couldn’t put it down

An involving listen

This is my second Susan Lewis audiobook after the excellent 'No Child of Mine' and it definitely kept me gripped for a few days. Lewis' perception and portrayal of families is so well done that I became completely involved in the story and the lives of the characters. Julia Franklin reads it so beauifully that I am unsure about listening to a Susan Lewis with an alternative narrator. My only criticism is that around half way through things got a little predictable, but still an excellent listen.

Great read

started off slowly with introduction to many characters.
However, once it had hot going it was addictive. Really loved driving to work so I could carry on listening! Will definitely be getting another by Susan Lewis

Emotional

I have read this book 3 times, and listening to it still brought the same feelings, I'd not more so thanks to the narrator
