Conviene decirlo ya desde el primer momento: Los santos inocentes de Miguel Delibes es una cumbre artística y literaria, una obra perfecta. La novela fue publicada en 1981 y no ha dejado desde entonces de sumar lectores y ediciones, hasta convertirse en un clásico popular de la cultura española.

A literary gem

With the tight structure of a Greek tragedy and poetical writing, using powerful repetitions such as "milana bonita", this is a moving examination of inequalities and poverty. Its themes are still relevant in our times despite the novel's evocative recreation of a specific place and time.
