Summary

He’s, like, literally the worst.

Oakley Davis is the star running back at our university and the reason I’ve broken my vow to avoid the college party scene. Thanks to a mix-up with my advisor, I’m now serving my public relations internship as a glorified babysitter to the party-hard football players.

Specifically, Oakley.

He’s impossible to manage. His Instagram is full of pictures of him half-naked and drunk, and he’d rather attend parties than practice. His brand needs some serious work, and when he’s not driving me insane, he’s sleeping his way through the entire female population.

But I’m determined. I have plans to graduate a semester early, and nothing or no one will get in my way. I’m a Virgo, after all. Oakley Davis might be a privileged, cocky football star, but I’m Amanda Matthews, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get my A.

I just have to make sure I don’t end up falling in love with the idiot first.

Fantastic story and narration!

Absolutely loved this story! It was funny, hot and little bit heartbreaking in places.

Amanda Matthews has moved colleges to get away from scandal. She's turned her life around and plans to put her head down, work hard and graduate early. Doing an internship is a requirement, however, it turns out to be something wholly unexpected and challenging to say the least!

Oakley Davis is a Problem. He is incredibly talented but doesn't seem to care about his reputation or his future. Amanda explodes into his life, taking over his social media accounts, and generally whipping him into shape, whether he likes it or not. However, as time goes on, all the dislike and aggravation turns into something more as they find their footing and learn more about each other.

This story was funny! Amanda is sassy, confident, and a hardass! LOL I loved her capable manner, her work ethic, and her attitude and determination to get Oakley to toe the line. I admired her fortitude considering everything she had been through. She had some fantastic lines in the story - her threats were the best! LOL. Oakley starts off as a pain in the butt but he toed the line quickly enough. He obviously had issues of some kind and but I found him pretty lovable and he loved to tease Amanda. This story was told solely from the female POV and I loved that through Oakley's actions, it showed the reader that he was thoughtful and caring underneath his devilish façade. The air between the two of them was tense and electric! I loved Oakley's playfulness and how he kept coaxing Amanda to get out of her head and enjoy the moment. What a fab, fun story!

Amy Stricker's debut narration was FANTASTIC! She had brilliant delivery and comic timing. I really laughed at the comedic parts and she also managed to make my heart twinge with some of the more emotional scenes. I can't wait to listen to more works from her in the future.

Touchdown!

Romcoms are fast becoming a favorite sub genre for me. They break up the angsty, suspenseful books and refresh my mind. This one by Coralee June and Carrie Gray had me smiling and enjoying the budding relationship between Oakley and Amanda. Oakley is a rising football star with a terrible reputation. Amanda is a public relations major in need of an internship. When she is given the task of cleaning up Oakley's image, our story begins. Witty banter, undeniable chemistry and the life of college students is at the forefront of this new adult book. Amanda proves herself to be resilient and we see her mature through the story. Oakley has much more to him that originally expected and we see his layers peel. It's got some very sweet moments, from hysterically funny moments and incredibly hot moments. I enjoyed their journey, especially the epilogue. Laughing til the very end!

Amy Stricker is a new narrator to me, and I enjoyed her performance. She has great voices, and fits the new adult genre perfectly. Her pacing flows easily and I loved her ability to give us all the feelings, from embarrassment to love with her voice.

4 star book 10 star cover

Before I start, I just want to take a moment to appreciate the choice that the authors made with the cover. If I was rating it on that alone then 5 stars, no doubt.

However, I'm not doing that. I will say however that I did really enjoy this. It was funny and I did swoon quite a bit. The chemistry was definitely 10/10 and honestly Oakley might make my book boyfriend list. Who doesn't love a dirty talking jock?? And Amanda was one of the funniest heroine's I've read about in a long time

I've been reading quite a few Rom-Com's lately and this for sure is high up the list overall.

I couldn't put it down and needed to know how it was going to end.

**I received an ARC of this and would like to thank the authors and Wildfire Marketing for the opportunity to review this. My review is unbiased and my opinion is my own.**

So funny

Haha I forgot how funny this book was! Amy did a fabulous job with the narration. My only "dislike" is that there wasn't really much difference between the male and female characters- but it was VERY minor- the emotion and levity she put into her reading was awesome.
