Summary
"Strait-laced. Ruthless. Arrogant."
Alexander Westhide, the Duke of Rakecombe, has no quarrel with such faint praise as he has forever shunned marriage, women, and anything remotely resembling love. Indeed, the damning words merely serve to enhance his haughty façade. But beneath the controlled demeanor lies a duke beset by tragedy, a man turbulent and restless.
"Forthright. Impudent... Capricious saucebox."
Miss Aideen Quinlan can't quite explain why she feels the need to taunt, tease, and generally annoy the Duke of Rakecombe. Maybe it was for the heart-racing spar of words that always ensued, or maybe it was to see the duke's broad fist clench on his ebony cane, green eyes glittering.
Or maybe it was because she was unable to erase the memory of his vehement kiss....
An unlikely couple.
Torn between his world of espionage and this unquenchable passion, the duke still refuses to lower his fierce defenses. If Aideen is to capture her resistant duke's troubled heart, it is she who must follow the Rules of the Rogue.
Resistance is futile....

The narrator lets it down.
If you can't do accents, don't try, there is a difference between Welsh and Irish. The Welsh sing, Irish is poetry, she did a fake Irish for all, a travesty.
The story is so predictable, the so called Heroine is a wimp and then an Amazon.
While the Hero hunkers down, popping out now and then for some sex.
The secondary characters, get lost in the backlash of nothingness.

NEED TO BE RECORDED ON HIGHER VOLUME HARD TO HEAR
I couldn't put this story down. I had been waiting for Alex The Duke of Rakecombe an Miss Aideen Quilan's story and it didn't disappoint . We meet this couple in Bk 1. An Earl In Wolfs Clothing.
Alex is the stern, snobbish titled Duke and Aideen is a smart mouth shrew!! They both take jabs at each other, but when caught kissing in the Gardens at a Ball. Well Alex announces to everyone that they Aideen is to be his wife. A few days later the couple is married.
Alex is a Spy for The Crown and his sister Gwen was killed. How does he keep Aideen safe and out of his world of spies. He decides to show no interest in her and basically ignores her. Well Aideen isn't having that. The banter between the couple was brilliantly written. They are both lovable characters. They are surrounded with a wonderful, fun and interesting cast of Secondary characters. Which I hope are in the next installment of this great series "Rules of the Rogue" I enjoyed the first book and the novella in this series.
