About this listen

Joining us at Audible Studios is high profile human rights and civil liberties barrister Leslie Thomas QC.

Thomas was called to the bar in 1988 and has represented some very high-profile cases, including families of the Hillsborough disaster, the family of Mark Duggan, whose death sparked the 2011 London riots, and more recently, the families of the victims of Grenfell Tower. It's clear that Thomas has a passion for supporting the voiceless and vulnerable, and is an expert in claims against the police and other public authorities. Thomas splits his time between the court room and the class room, lecturing at Gresham College, passing on his many years of experience and knowledge.

We spoke to Leslie Thomas QC about Do Right and Fear No One, his book detailing his life, about trespasser syndrome, about the trauma from his cases and how the justice system must change to be equal for all.

Vital reading that needed a 2nd edit

Leslie Thomas QCs story is captivating and interesting, and his cases are so important. Interestingly, Thomas is not concise in his wording, nor very good at reading his book. I urge him to get a second edit, get it abridged to remove repetition and waffle, and hire an actor to read his trimmed work. If this js done, I'd love to listen again.

Thank you, Leslie, for your lifes work.
