The man behind Jack Reacher

Very interesting to hear Lee Child talking about his method of writing the Jack Reacher books which I love. Hard to believe the plots are not sketched out before hand but perhaps that’s why the stories seem to flow the way they do. There was one, once, where I felt the end just tailed off! But the overall experience is always an exciting one. I have to say I usually listen on audio because I love the reader, Grover Gardner.
Have only given this 4 stars because I felt the interviewer sounded very flat and uninterested. Thank Audible for the chance to hear authors.

short and not in depth enough insight

I wanted more from someone who is a great writer not a biography but more depth to the interview. what makes him tick what makes him a good writer.

Great insight

A great insight into the way that Lee Child constructs the Reacher novels. I am also very grateful to learn that Mr Child has no plans to retire Jack or kill him off anytime soon, so I'll always have something to binge listen.
Afterthought; obviously nothing could kill Reacher anyway, but it's reassuring to know none the less.

Such a disappointment

Oh dear! Found Lee Child's general air of indifference completely fake, as with the majority of his claims. Just sits and writes every book from scratch, off the cuff, with absolutely no pre thought regards storyline /theme? Utter BS! Fortunately I love the character of Reacher too much to allow the authors' arrogance to influence my enjoyment. WTF!? LC

.

This was interesting and it was nice to know more of the writer’s process but he comes across as really indifferent in this interview, which can be a bit off putting.
