Summary

*The thrilling new novel from Lucy Clarke*‘

Impossible to put down' Clare Mackintosh

Seven years ago, two boys went missing at sea – and only one was brought to shore. The Sandbank, a remote stretch of coast dotted with beach huts, was scarred forever.

Sarah’s son survived, but on the anniversary of the accident, he disappears without trace. As new secrets begin to surface, The Sandbank hums with tension and unanswered questions. Sarah’s search grows more desperate and she starts to mistrust everyone she knows – and she’s right to.

Someone saw everything on that fateful day seven years ago. And they’ll do anything to keep the truth buried.

Last Seen is a gripping, twisty psychological thriller that begs you to keep listening on.

Sandy secrets

The underlying story is good- missing teenager, missing child, secrets etc- but the reveals were pretty predictable.
Stories based around unreliable narrators always seem to be populated by self-centred unsympathetic characters.
However the beachy setting was great for a summertime read and the narrators were good.

Off to a good start ...

I haven't yet finished this book but it's off to a good start! It's the first I have listened to with two actors and the alternating chapters and voices works well.

Some bits didn’t make sense

Overall good story however parts just didn’t add up. Returning to the same place every year even after such a horrible tragedy. Living in “huts” in the English climate. Would have been better set in Thailand or a location more in keeping.

One of the best

Wow! I can’t recommend this book enough - absolutely gripping. Beautifully written and compelling, also unbearably sad.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Twista ans turns all the way through, enjoyed the read and the narration was good (I did think Sarah sounded a little too young )
