Summary

Douloureuse. Démoniaque...

Love this narrator

I had just finished La Fille de Brooklyn, which was my first foray into French audible, and loved the narrator, who speaks clearly and not too fast. I also found Guillaume Musso's style fairly simple and easy to understand. This was a natural second choice, and I wans't disappointed. The story was actually far better than La Fille de Brooklyn, although once again, I did feel that it was somewhat predictable, and that Musso misled his audience to create the mystery, which is a bit of a cop-out! Still, this was an exciting and engaging listen, and I enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't have rated so highly as an English novel, and the narrator definitely added to it. But would highly recommend to those rusty French speakers who are starting to listen to French fiction in a bid to revive their spoken French!
