Questa è la seconda avventura del commissario maremmano. Il personaggio è nato per caso osservando la gente di Maremma, egli ricalca tutte le peculiarità di quel popolo, le abitudini, i luoghi comuni e le idiosincrasie tipiche della Maremma.
Questa volta il commissario si trova ad indagare su una banda di russi che vogliono impossessarsi del giro della prostituzione della città. A questa indagine se ne sovrappone un'altra, su un giovane ragazzo morto di overdose dopo essere stato in discoteca.
Sembrano due indagini distinte. In realtà sono strettamente collegate.
La risoluzione del caso lo porterà alla rottura con la sua fidanzata e a rimanere vittima di un tentato omicidio.
