Summary

Here are two bestselling novels which offer a great introduction to the Kings and Sorcerers series. Kings and Sorcerers tells the epic coming of age story of Kyra, 15, who dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. She struggles to understand her special skills and mysterious inner power, and comes to realize she is different than the others.

But a secret is being kept from her about her birth and the prophecy surrounding her, leaving her only to wonder. When Kyra comes of age and her father tries to wed her off, she refuses and journeys out on her own, into a dangerous wood, where she encounters a wounded dragon—and ignites a series of events that will change the kingdom forever.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, Kings and Sorcerers is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

Uninteresting and characters not realistic

Character development was childlike and one dimensional, story line pedantic and uninspired. Don't waste your time unless your just wanting background noise.

Disappointed

To get the whole story you have to buy 15 books. Writing keeps reusing the same phrasing over and over.

great book th as t is hard to put down

Book has many t we lists and turns so you never know what horrible creature will appear next. it has a number of characters you follow so when one plot is slow suddenly a whole different plot puts you on the edge of your seat. it is like 4 different books all at once.

Medicore to good Story, great narration

I find myself yelling at the narrator throughout this series and seriously disgruntled that it wasn't wrapped up in the first two or three books. Now I find that there are six total. The story line is rather simplistic and trite (I just don't find it weighty enough). I feel like this was a rushed series just to get something out. So much potential, but ideas seem just written down with the gaps filled in. Still, I like the narrator (sorry for yelling at you for poor plot development!) Needs to be written and marketed for a younger audience. It's more their speed.

Abrupt Ending

I enjoyed the book but the abrupt ending was unexpected with NO clue as to what book to read next to follow storylines!

exceptional

best read since the goblin Chronicles. The narrator is brilliant. couldn't have asked for a better story. The action is non-stop beginning to end. excellent. I'm so glad I bought these. If you want a great and magical adventure, this is it.

Close

So close to being really good. Rice created some really great characters, and a decent storyline so far. The first was definitely better than the second, however. I mean the second was literally a long string of cliff hangers without really advancing the story ark much at all. Here’s the thing that really bothers me though. I feel like with minimal effort these stories could be cleaned up too be pretty good. But repetition of the same phrases and descriptions, the excessive amount of ridiculous cliff hangers and some really major plot holes and obvious inconsistencies kind of make them hard to listen to at points. I feel like if Rice for some decent beta readers these could really be made decent. Oh well.
I thought Farrell was excellent
