About this listen
When a fire turns your heart into ice, it can’t possibly melt without revealing scars. Adele has lost everyone and everything she loves. Now, she’s coping with an unwanted new reality which includes working as a maid in a chic hotel in downtown Seattle to make ends meet. Uninterested in a relationship, her frozen solitude suits her just fine.
She thinks. When a handsome guest walks into the room she is cleaning and sets her frigid life ablaze again, Adele discovers there is more than one way to burn. Will this new friendship be a smoldering ember or ignite a conflagration which could consume what remains of her heart and soul?

Short and fun
This book packed a lot into one enjoyable listen. I Ostend while doing chores. The story was really good, and written well.

Achingly sweet. Romance at its purest
29 year old, full-time mother Adele lost everything. Her husband and her son in a fire. Her whole future gone.
One year later, she is slowly picking up the pieces of her life. She is renting an inconsequential apartment and has a job as a housekeeper at a hotel. On a particular day she is cleaning a room at the hotel when she encounters Mason and somehow she ends up crying in his arms.
Mason is literally everything a woman could wish for when she is trying to make it through each day. He is patient, kind, understanding, and he has a real desire to be with Adele. Enough to keep her warm as she learns that it is OK to love again and plan for a different future than she envisioned.
This story is so full of emotions. As a parent it is exceedingly heart wrenching but Jude Ouvrard has done an excellent job of delicately traversing the lines between too much emotion and too little to be realistic. And Shelby Hughes does an equally excellent job giving the story a voice.
I am coming back for more from this author. It was so heart warming and lovely!

Heartfelt HEA
I didn’t want to stop listening. I enjoyed the characters. It was a heartfelt sad and happy story. At the very beginning Adele went through a traumatic experience but throughout the book it shows how hard she fights and works for her life and to find happiness again. This book could have been longer and explained a lot more details but it was great like it is too. Narration is great. HEA, I recommend this book. No cliffhanger here.
