About this listen
Ava Jones has settled for a life that she's not sure she wants anymore, but won't admit it. Her best friend Erica Davidson talks her into taking a break on the Isle of Wight. Her days on the island are spent thinking things through and arguing with Morgan, whom she hates on principle. Is it so wrong for her to want a life that follows the script of an honest-to-god romance film?

Modern romance, short and sweet
If you enjoy short and sweet modern romances, this may be the book for you. Ava and Morgan's story is pretty succinct, lacking in unnecessarily frilly details (which is great) but with enough meat to make a fun story. In a single sentence, this little nugget of a book is about a holiday meet that lacks the usual instant burning attraction that goes wonderfully right, rather than terribly wrong.

Quite entertaining romp.
Where does Just Like in the Movies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I haven't listened to many audiobooks thus far, and even fewer novellas. But this was quite entertaining.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I wouldn't change the story itself, but the character of Erica irritated me.
What about Leanne Yau’s performance did you like?
The narrator is very fluid and has mastered many characters, and is able to articulate and emote various sentiments as called for in the text. Very well done.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
