Story
If only Mark Davis hadn’t put on a dress for the talent show. It was a joke—other guys did it too—but when his boyfriend saw Mark in that dress, everything changed. And now, fresh on the heels of high school heartbreak, Mark has given up on love. Maybe some people are just too much for this world—too weird, too wild, too feminine, too everything. Thankfully, his older brother Eric always knows what to say to keep Mark from spinning into self-loathing. "Be yourself! Your full sequin-y self.”

Wasted, covered in glitter, and wearing the ugliest dress in existence. Also known as: me, the night I stumble into bed with a Fairfield. Cohen isn't my type. I mean, other than his legendary family genes, and a smirk that leaves me as breathless as it does enraged. One night. That's all I want. Then daylight comes, and all I want is to forget him. There's just one problem: that night was too incredible to black out. Actually, there are two problems. Now my sister wants me to be her surrogate. To carry her child. To be pregnant. Billy Sloat and Lydia Lemon don't have much in common, unless you count growing up on the same (wrong) side of the tracks, the lack of a mother, and a persistent loneliness that has inspired creative coping mechanisms. When the lives of these two loners are thrust together, Lydia's cynicism is met with Billy's sincere optimism, and both begin to question their own outlook on life. On top of that, weird happenings including an impossible tornado and an all-consuming fog are cropping up around them - maybe even because of them.

Summary
Jesus Christ SuperTeen
What if you hung out with Jesus before he was, well, J.E.S.U.S? What if Jesus went to your high school, drove an old Jeep, and delivered pizzas part-time to save money for college? For Paul Watson, Jesus is just a fellow A.P. student and pizza delivery co-worker who becomes a close friend. When a seemingly random pizza delivery mixes up Paul with Jesus - and an eerie and awkward encounter with the Lord of Darkness himself - the two friends are catapulted on a journey beyond space and time...literally.
Jesus Christ SuperTeen is a hilarious look at teen life in modern America with a unique twist that places Jesus as a 21st century teenager before he becomes, well, J.E.S.U.S! Filled with a fascinating glimpse of the modern high school and the pizza delivery business, this audiobook will have you laughing right up until the climax where the afterlife resembles more the DMV than fire and brimstone. This novel is Tom Stoppard meets Douglas Adams for the YA set. For teens and older.
Meet Paul. Paul is an Honor student, ranked third in the Junior class, and delivers pizza part-time. Paul has just received a text from his girlfriend that she wants to see other people. Sound familiar? And so begins Paul’s odyssey to understand why his girlfriend has dumped him. In the meantime, Paul meets Jesus, a fellow Honor student, ranked second in the Junior class and who also delivers pizzas part time. It all takes a dramatic twist for the bizarre when Paul mistakenly takes a delivery that Jesus was supposed to take. Will Paul make any sense out of the creepy guy with pristine dental work? Will Paul be able to solve the mystery of his girlfriend’s odd behavior and seeming disappearance? And is Yuri, the school janitor, actually an inter-dimensional being? And, more importantly, will Paul ever get his Medea paper done and turned in on time?

Cool and fun listening
A very enjoyable read/listen on a snowy day by the fire or really anytime. The author clearly knows of what he speaks, when it comes to understanding the adolescent male mind. The story is quick paced, witty and rich with metaphor and simile. Narration is well done with the enunciation clear and the emphasis well placed. The lacy voice could have been more feminine but that is a minor nit.
I look forward to the follow on with much anticipation.

Fun!
Narration can make or break the audiobook version of a quirky, funny story with deep undertones. Fortunately this performance was spot on and gave the story that little extra "oomph" to carry it from great to superb. This was such a fun listen and I highly recommend it to audiences of all ages.
