Summary
Dr. Jeff Martin has spent five years as a rural general practitioner on the Isle of Wight, hiding the fact he's gay. He travels in secret to see his partner, Tris, but when he discovers Tris has been cheating on him, he ends their relationship. Then Jeff meets island native Cameron Gillard. Cameron is down to earth and lively and treats Jeff like he's the most important person in his life. Jeff blooms under Cameron's attention, and he decides to come out to his colleagues and friends.
Just when things are going well, Tris reappears out of the blue. Jeff is no longer interested in Tris, but it seems he has two men to convince: Tris, who can't believe Jeff is serious about wanting to end their relationship, and Cameron, who can't hide his jealousy of Tris.
Jeff is certain about one thing: The only man he wants in his life is Cameron. Now he just needs to prove it to him.

Great story and narrator
What did you like most about Island Doctor?
The story here was great, I loved how the characters developed, especially the mc, Julian. Set in the Isle of Wight, this story kept me hooked all the way through.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Julian was great and I connected with him the most. He was sticking with what he wanted, despite the other half pressuring him to do something else, and became better off for it.
Which character – as performed by Adam Rivington – was your favourite?
Gran :) All the characters were well done, but I loved the way Adam voiced her.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out loud a lot, and sat down when it was getting tense. This is a great story that keeps you listening.

A charming romance
Island Dr is a sweet romance. I wasn't aware it was from another series but can see that now. The story is good, There are many characters that had such a large part it took away from the main characters. I did enjoy the story.
Adam Rivington did an excellent job narrating. I think he brought the story up a notch. I love the accent, and I like the special effects like when they are talking on a phone or intercom.

Sweet Romance, Great Narration
This is one of my favorite authors; I really enjoy her writing. This is a sweet romance about Cameron, a mechanic with insecurities and Jeff, a doctor on the Isle of Wight recovering from a cheating ex. I think this story didn't work as well for me because I had not read the series this one was based on; the Isle of Wight. Although technically this is a stand alone, the previous three couples are prominent in this story. Actually, they played such a big part, I want to go back and read their stories because those couples intrigued me more than Cameron and Jeff. Although they were a very sweet couple, I was bored by their romance. The conflict of the story seemed a little weak and their reactions out of proportion with their character.
On the other hand, the narrator did an outstanding job. This is my first listen from him but not my last. As he is a British narrator he brought the authenticity to the story that made it all the more enjoyable.

Great story
The story flowed nicely and the writing easily pulled me into the world the author created. The narration was nicely done also. I just love the accents. Plan to get more from this author.
