日本のコロッケは、フランスのクロケットがルーツといわれます。しかし、クロケットのようにホワイトソースを使ったものは、クリームコロッケと呼ばれます。
日本で＂コロッケ＂といえば、茹でてつぶしたジャガイモとひき肉などを混ぜ、パン粉をまぶして油でカリッと揚げたもののこと。
コロッケはご飯のおかずとする以外に、パンに挟んで食べたり、それだけでおやつとしても人気です。
また、かぼちゃコロッケやカレーコロッケなど、さまざまな味のコロッケもあります。
