About this listen

What if, for once, the losers won out against the uber-cools? GeekGirl gets GreekGod? It'd turn the school upside down. But that's what Zoe's World, a website that Eberly's eighth-grade girls check out daily, is suggesting. Only Anna, Eve, and Syd know that the cards - the mysterious tarot deck elderly Mrs. Rosemont left Anna (along with a psycho cat, Mouli) are responsible. Or may be responsible...if you believe in that sort of thing.

Editor reviews

The transparency of narrator Emma Galvin's lovely voice allows listeners a clear awareness of protagonist Anna's roller-coaster emotions as she navigates the dramas of high school with some help from a former neighbor's tarot cards. Anna and her friends use the cards to ask about her chances with Declan Kelso, the geek who came back from summer as the "Greek God", but do the cards really mean for Anna to get a makeover in order to get Declan's attention? Or are they suggesting something else entirely? One of AudioFile magazine's Best Voices of 2011, Galvin's lighthearted performance has an undercurrent of seriousness that keeps the hijinks of this breezy story grounded and believable.
