Summary

Kim Loraine’s Ignite is a steamy, forbidden, age-gap contemporary romance in the Ryker Ranch world featuring Ryker cousin Travis Ryker.

She‘s everything I swore to stay away from. But I was never good at resisting temptation.

When I picked up my life and moved to California, I left my hometown, my past, and my heart back in Sunrise, Montana. I never wanted to look back. Didn’t want to look forward either. All I needed was the job to keep me going. Until Lark sparked something inside me.

But she’s nearly half my age, and I’m too much for her. Too broken. Too selfish to give her what she deserves.

Even though I know it’s wrong to want her, I can’t resist.

Every time we come together, our world catches fire.

It only takes one touch for us to ignite.

Brilliant

I wasn’t ready for Jason and his darlin’s

Stella Hunter was fantastic, and I think this is the first book I’ve done where she was the main narrator and not an ‘extra’ for lack of a better word.
No one prewarned me that there was going to be a bit of daddy kink in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I am here for it. Daddy Travis for the win!
I loved the storyline and how it all came together. I thought Kim handled the PTSD elements of the story sensitively.

One of the reasons I haven’t done the book until know is because it’s part of K. Bromberg’s World Series and I haven’t done any of the originals. However, I really wanted to listen to this book, and I’m glad I did. I don’t think I missed anything.

I loved the humour. I didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did. There were some scenes that I didn’t know if they were supposed to be funny or I just took them that way. I don’t know if they were internally done as innuendo but they had me howling. I loved that aspect and it worked well to balance out the heavier subjects.

I somehow missed the memo that Aaron Shedlock did a cameo, and of course, he narrates the Ryker’s Ranch series from Kim, and that was a nice surprise.

Jason and Stella together are chef’s kiss. Their voices complement each other well.

Great lovestory narrated to perfection

I really enjoyed the story of Lark and Travis which is an age gap romance filled with love, steam and just has a really good backstory.
This was my first experience with duet narration and Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter were absolutly amazing. Jason is so perfect for this character and He bring such warmth and credibility to the story. I highly recommend this book ♥️

Ignite

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. Narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter with a cameo by Aaron Shedlock. This was a stand-alone and I had no prior knowledge of any of the characters and loved it, but others have mentioned other books about the Ryker Ranch.

This is wonderful all on its own but I now need to hear more about the other books . I was completely taken with Lark and Travis. I loved seeing how their relationship began and how it evolved throughout the book. These two were so meant for one another and I really didn’t see their age difference as a stumbling block. It was special right from the get go. And Lark’s relationship with her dad was heart warming.

Loved the horses. Loved that it involved a group of firefighters who adore Lark. Loved how two broken souls mend themselves when they realize that they want what’s best for one another.

Jason is amazing as Travis, he shows such emotion and strength. Travis was broken before he literally ran into Lark at the beginning of the book. Jason’s performance was perfection as a protective cowboy and a firefighter. Wowza what girl could resist all of that.

Stella’s performance as Lark was also heartfelt and emotional, even the cameos from Aaron were awesome. Kim really knows how to choose narrators who encapsulate the emotions and the characterization of her characters so much that I couldn’t put this book down. The narration really pulled me in, in a wonderfully emotional way.

Thank you Kim for the wonderful book and thank you Jason, Stella and Aaron for entertaining me fully. I definitely will listen to this book again and again in the future.

4 stars

I really liked this one. I loved the little unexpected parts even going into this blind. It had just the right amount of drama.

The narration by: Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke were so good for their characters. I loved the Duet Narration as well.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Sexy cowboy firefighter awesomeness!

Full disclosure - I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time. This Ryker spinoff has all of the ingredients for amazing! A sexy cowboy who is a firefighter and a Ryker, narrated in DUET by Jason Clarke with Stella Hunter - SOLD! We had a glimpse of Travis and his rocky marriage in the Ryker Series that barely scratched the surface. Divorce is never easy, but the tumultuous relationship glimpses from other books turned into a traumatizing divorce for him. #GinaSucks He is reeling and trying to rebuild himself with a new start in a new place. Lark is such a complex character. Her sense of humor and sassy personality shine through from the first chapter. She shows her strength every day as she fights to regain her independence and challenge herself following a traumatic experience in her past. She is very mature for her age. I was caught up in both characters from the beginning. They just fit together and connect in that way that everyone longs for. You just know it! This book is so hot you will need a fire extinguisher close by - be warned!

Jason and Stella work very well in duet to bring this story to life in a way you just don’t get outside of duet. From the subtle giggles They blend together seamlessly in every scene, from the sassy dialogue to the scenes so hot you will be glad Travis is a firefighter! Yowza! I have listened through multiple times now, and it will do so again! I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this book!

I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Set Fire to the Rain

Ignite is an Everyday Heroes and Ryker Ranch crossover story that gives us the story of Travis Ryker. Travis is a rodeo cowboy/rancher turned firefighter. After finding out his wife has been cheating on him while he was off fighting the wildfires in Australia, Travis takes a job and moves to a small town in California. On a drive home, he clips Lark on her Vespa with his truck.

Lark is a skittish college student struggling with PTSD after a traumatic event. Nothing her therapist recommends seems to help. Until the fated day that she gets into an accident with Travis. They are the definition of insta-lust. They face struggles that come with a large age gap and the fact that Lark's father is Travis's boss.

I really enjoyed this book. There's a swoony cowboy firefighter with a hero complex and a spunky college girl. You get everything Kim Loraine with a touch a K. Bromberg's world.

Audio Review: Ignite is narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter. Jason has the growl and grit of a cowboy and the charisma of a sexy firefighter. Stella brings a sweet naivete to Lark. These two are perfect together. You can really feel all the emotions these characters have come through these two narrators.

Sexy and emotional age-gap romance

Ignite by Kim Loraine is an age-gap romance in the Everyday Heroes World. I discovered Kim Loraine with her Ryker Ranch series, which I absolutely love. This story bridges the two worlds as the hero here is a cousin of the Rykers.

Ignite centers on the sizzling connection between Travis, a sexy as sin firefighter/cowboy and Lark, a much younger, college-aged woman, who are instantly drawn to each other. Both Travis and Lark are wounded characters who eventually find strength and comfort in each other. Travis was burned badly by his ex-wife and Lark has had a traumatic incident in her past that she's been struggling to recover from.

The duet style narration of this story is perfect for showcasing the chemistry these two have for each other. Jason Clarke is perfectly cast and absolutely smolders as Travis. Stella Hunter does a wonderful job bringing all the dimensions of Lark’s character to life, showing both her fierce independence, and the vulnerability that her past has left her with.

The attraction between these two is off the charts. Even though there is a fairly large age difference, these two characters have so many layers that it’s easy to see why they develop such a deep connection so quickly. The very real world issues that they both are facing help elevate the story from your traditional age-gap trope to a much more compelling and nuanced romance.

great, until

I loved this book until she started calling him daddy.... yuck. the whole first part of the book had tension related to what her actual dad would think. so calling her lover daddy feels gross. other than that, excellent book. thankfully the daddy part was short lived. ending was great.

So hot!

Ooohh. That was a spicy and sweet delight. There’s nothing like an aged gap romance. I love any books that bring me back to the Ryker world. Travis and Lark are smoking hot and although not my kink, the Daddy kink was super hot.

There’s something special about Jason Clarke with thick, gruffy voice. It’s perfect. And I will always love hearing Stella Hunter narrate. She’s always amazing.

Hot with some humor!

I am a 73 year old woman and wish I was 50 again!! I enjoy losing myself in books. It is very relaxing and helps me dwell on positive things instead of negative things. It makes for a relaxing break from every day life. I like the fact that there is always a twist to the stories and it never fails to spark my interest. I have really come to relish the narrators and feel like they are telling me the stories. It is nice to feel the hypnotic tones of their voices and come alive in their stories. Thank you for the light in my life.

Cowboys and firefighers!

I finally popped my Kim Loraine cherry! So glad I did. Cowboys and firefighters? Yes, please!

Travis is a cowboy turned firefighter. After a bad breakup, he decides to up and move to get away from bad memories. He starts working at a new firestation, and really likes his fellow fighters. When an accident puts Travis and Lark in the same place, there's an almost immediate attraction. They try to fight it for a while...until they can't. When circumstances threaten their budding relationship, they must decide what's really important to them.

Travis and Lark's chemistry is off the charts. I loved how their story unfolded

Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter did a wonderful job narrating this great story.

Travis & Lark

If there ever was a book boyfriend that you wanted or an actual good man, Travis was that man. He was perfect!! A cowboy and a firefighter 🔥 This book was good. It was the best kind of narration, duet style. Stella is a favorite of mine but Jason Clarke.....my gawd they dont come any better than him. His voice is sexy AF!!! I cant stop listening to him he's that good! Love the author and all of her books. I loved how she wrote the two MC. Both good people and much love between the two. Definitely worth the money/credit.
