The Sun Dragon spawned nine lesser dragons which devoured their parent for the power the elder possessed. Story
Odo (seventh child of the village miller) and Eleanor (always looking for adventure) stumble upon a sword in a dried-up river outside their village. Eleanor (strong and able) tries to extract the sword but is unable to, and it is Odo who is surprisingly successful. It is even more surprising that the sword, once pulled out, starts to talk. And rather annoying when the talking sword turns out to be rather grumpy, stubborn and, at times, catastrophically wrong....

Summary
Iggy is an Urk. The Urks are a warlike race with bushy beards and hairy legs – especially some of the women. Urks like boulder-rolling and chasing lizards. They also like the Feast of Urks. This is when Urk boys must pass the Testing to become warriors.
But Iggy isn’t quite like other Urks. He likes inventing things. Which is why he has been neglecting his axe-wielding practice. So it is unfortunate for him that the Testing involves killing a large snake – using an axe.
And that’s how this story begins. With a very large snake, an axe, and hopefully a very cunning (last-minute) invention....
