Summary
What turns someone into a monster? Are they born that way, or is it a choice? I suppose it can be either or both
Morgan Albright dreams of owning her own bar one day but she's bartending for now - working hard, saving money. Life is hectic but she loves sharing a house with her best friend, Nina, and she is even finding time to date for the first time in what feels like forever.
When a seemingly random attack turns Morgan's life upside down, she must leave the city to return to her family home. She hopes that moving back to a small town where she can feel safe will help her to put the horror of that day behind her but, as Morgan soon discovers, sometimes your past just doesn't want to let you go...

Good storyline
Love this narrator and the story line is good even though the skeleton of the story is very formulaic. Still enjoyable though.

awful male voice
Good story but please find a new narrator, she can't do a male voice.

Left me with the question: what if?!!
What if you woke up one morning and found that someone had taken everything from you? A woman finds her strength when her life is thrown into chaos. Nora Roberts deals with a subject we should all be aware of and thank God if we have not been affected by it. Thoroughly enjoyed this cautionary tale and the deserved HEA ending for Morgan. Well worth a read.

Simple story telling at its best
A simple somewhat predictable but still immensely enjoyable and compelling page turner, the narration was excellent managing to portray the voice of so many characters and bring them to life to fully engage you in the story.

Sisterhood was beautifully captured
Absolute page turner. Loved the female lens and following powerful female characters. Such a satisfying read. We need more like this!!! Here’s to all ‘the ladies’ ♥️

Great book
Nora Roberts at her best. A rather scary ( in the fact that this actually happens) story involving identity theft.
Great narration

Loved it- as always.
I don’t mind that there’s a formula to her books. Sometimes it’s just what’s needed and I always enjoy Nora Robert’s stories. This, as usual has strong likeable characters and an interesting storyline. I love that in each of her books she talks about good food, good wine and a good dog… she’s my comfort blanket author and never disappoints me. Really enjoyed it. Pure escapism.
