Summary

Not for me..
Downhill from book 1 witch was ok. I found the main character, Charlotte, more and more unlikeable and annoying. The story less and less engaging and the religious content jarring. The other characters are wery flat, and stereotype in a bad way. Could not finish..

Amazing character depth!!! wonderfully emotional and deep altruistic story lines...and Podehls voicing carries all of this into your imagination, he is simply the best narrator on audible. Another work of art that I am so grateful for and will continue to listen to again and again

Oh Robert, you did it again!
Raaaaar I want to write spoilers but I won’t! Robert you have managed to do it again, the fact that Cieran is featured has nothing to do with the huge amount I love and enjoyed this book. It has left me chomping for the next one…hurry please!
The character progression is as always flawless and I truly feel sorry for those who are subjected to Charlotte’s “demons” in future books.
It hit all the right feels at the end and I found myself smiling widely and being so emotionally invested as always with your writing.
Thank you so so much and keep on keeping on.
Nick, you are a true vocal magician sir! I never hear you, just the characters you intend me to hear in your flawless performance time after time. I’m so glad you and Robert are friends…it means we get to hear more of you. Thank you so much!

So Insanely Great, I Finally Wrote a Review
I’ve not been one to write reviews, but here goes.
Paradigm 2045 is probably the best Sci-fi book I’ve read in at least 10 years. Someone please make this into a streaming series!
Reading it and listening to it reminds me of that feeling I had watching The Matrix for the first time, just mindblowingly great writing. The description is right on the money. It has shades of Start Trek, The Expanse, and maybe even a touch of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The Hitchhiker one kind of surprised me, but it’s a great touch, and needed. I literally found myself out of breath a few times, having become so immersed in the story.
I ended up feeling real emotions for these characters, then something would happen and I’d be like, Oh no...then Ross gave me a humorous escape hatch. The pacing is fantastic, and prose is somehow lyrical at times.
I love how REAL these characters are. They truly do represent Humanity’s Promise. Many of these characters couldn’t BE any more different, but you know what, they respect each other, work well together, and even like each other. Humanity’s Promise makes use of some tropes and crushes others to dust. Neither the male or female characters play to any stereotypes and I found that SO refreshing.
Please do yourself a favor and get this book. You’ll love it!

Everything I wanted from book 2 and more.
This book is everything that a follow up Sci fi installment is supposed to be and I am officially in love with it. Without any spoilers involved here are my short and long reviews:
Short review- BUY THIS BOOK! You will not regret it at all. It has fun, laughs, action, emotions and a great story without ever feeling long or unnecessarily complicated. It expanded the universe we were introduced to and pulled us in even more. I fell in love with all these characters when they were introduced in book one and somehow, Robert Ross has made them feel even more real in the second book than they were in the first. I felt like I was on an adventure with friends that I knew and loved and my emotions became engaged on page one and were never released.
Nick Podehl’s narration was amazing as always. I have actually listened to several books just because Nick Podehl read them. At this point, I could listen to any book he reads. He does great narration, and has consistent characters voices throughout his work. It's always a pleasure to hear a story from this narrator.
Now my long reveiw- I wrote a review on book one that detailed everything that resonated with me about the main character Charlotte's characterization and started my love affair with this series, and now, I feel the need to be just as honest with this book as well. (For my review of Trinity’s Children, read "Finally the Brown Girl Superhero We Always Wanted" and see just how far I fell in love with this series)
This book picked up just a few weeks after the event of book 1 so the excitement of the events in the conclusion of book one have only just cooled off. Our heros are preparing to again save the world so the stakes are understandably high as our band of misfits are joined by an extended cast to round out the Bladerunner crew. The new characters have enough time in the story to ingratiate themselves into our hearts while not detracting from the main characters journey nor feel as if we are being thrown on endless side quest. All of the new guys feel just as real and fleshed out as the original cast as we watch these new additions trying to find thier place in this tight knit group. The relationships between new and old characters develop in really fun ways as everyone is exploring the vastness of space and being thrown into the unknown. The new characters are just as fun to see as the characters from book 1 and I even felt myself looking forward to the scenes where I would get to see them interact with each other and the main characters as well. There is even a scene that was so emotionally engaging that it actually made me cry in a good way as I read this book. It was that good.
All of of my favorite characters are back and they all feel even more real. I felt like I was being wrapped in a familiar blanket of old friends and also exploring a new world of adventures. Charlotte remains my favorite character and even doubles down on her awesomeness. The original characters from Trinity’s Children stay true to the spirit of their characterizations but through the conversations and actions in this book, show a depth of emotional and intellectual growth that is often missing in the developments of characters in a sequel. Never once did the roller-coaster of adventure stagnate nor did it feel contrite or nonsensical but instead I felt like I was able to really dig deeper into who each character was. Every problem felt real and every solution felt like I was right there trying to survive alongside the crew of Bladerunner. I also laughed out loud sitting by myself so many times while reading/listening to this book that I'm sure my sanity was questioned a few times. But, once I started reading I couldn't stop.
I don't want to give anything away because I need all of you guys to go on ride that is this book. I need you to laugh, cry, and gasp in anticipation just like I did. I need you to be so completely distracted by this story like I was so that I am not the only one who's family felt neglected for a few days straight. I need you guys to all walk into this book with the expectation that it will be amazing and come out the other side with your mind blown and your expectations exceeded. I need you to see the second installment of a story that took an author I had never heard of and catapult him into my top 5 favorite writers and have his story invade your mind and live rent free just as it did mine. Buy this book, experience this world, and then be angry right along with me that book 3 can't come fast enough.

The continuation of people, places and plots
I often find second books in a series to be the weakest. The characters have been established, the beginning of the plot line clarified, and all too often it’s just a platform for the next episode. Not so with this book. The continuity of characters is solidified and expanded. We see the impact of the situations and other persons on the people we met previously. As we get to know the cast better, the subplots begin to take prominence. Really good fiction involves building a world that makes internal sense, populated with diverse complex characters. This book allowed me to become immersed in the author’s world and to relate both positively and negatively with people I’m getting to know. I’m anxious to see where we go next. I’m also inspired to read the author’s earlier works. Finally, these days it’s very easy to wonder if there is any hope for humanity, to wonder if we’ve lost the essence of what it means to be human. This novel of sci-future has a definite point of view that I appreciate and won’t spoil for other readers. It’s also just fun.

Science Fiction's Promise -- Delivered!!
I’ve been counting the days until the sequel to Trinity’s Children was released, and wow it exceeded even my crazy-high expectations. I bought the print version when it came out last month, but hearing Nick Podehl perform all these characters brings everything to another whole level.
Here are the high points. First, the story picks up just a little bit after Trinity’s Children finishes, so it might be worth refreshing your memory. I listened to it again just last week. Second, all my favorite characters were back from the first book AND amazingly about six new characters are added. At first I wondered how that would work. Would my favorites like Charlotte, Linnea, and James get enough “screen time?”
Well, they did, AND so did the new characters. If you’ve ever entered an established team and felt that awkward isolation, Ross captures the feeling perfectly as these new folks join the returning crew members of Bladerunner. Then he seems to effortless blend them into an expanded family that you really end up caring about.
This story is just a tremendous ride. It’s funny. It’s thrilling. Surprisingly, it is heart wrenching at times. Chapter 21…oh my gosh. Guys, if you get through that chapter with a dry eye, check for pods.
Anyway, I could go on, but I won’t. There are so few stories where the sequel exceeds the first. I’m looking at you, Empire Strikes Back. Yes, this is THAT good.
Oh, one last thing. While I was having soo much fun reading and listening to this story, I didn’t even realize how deep some of the topics were. It wasn’t until I was talking to a friend about it, that it came to me. Mr. Ross, you’ve been doing some thinking about life, the universe, and everything. Thank you so much for sharing. Five stars. Get this book!

great space adventures
I freaking love this series. Nick podehl is an amazing narrator and truly brings the character to life off of the pages. I cant recommend this series enough. every second is worth the read or in this case the listen. well done

Religious tracts being passed off as sci-fi
I enjoyed the first book, though the continual focus on the captain's religious beliefs I didn't understand at all. I can only guess the author was gearing up for another missionary push of Xtianity. Look - he has the right to be as Xtian as he wants. BUT - he doesn't have the right to pass off religious propaganda as something else. At least be true in the description and the genres.
This is religious sci-fi. as long as you want that, this book is for you. It is not something I wanted to purchase and feel cheated because I really wanted to continue the story of the Blade Runner.
This author is now a distinct "DO NOT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES". Like I said -he has the right to be Xtian. But his right to his beliefs does not allow him to try to pass his doctrine off as something else.
As usual, the narrator was fantastic. It amazes me that he can not only do so many voices, but keep them consistent. That's impressive.

Great book
This will be a short review. Buy this book. I suggest you start with book 1 but this is a great story. Robert does a awesome job creating and developing his characters. The back-and-forth banter is the best part. If you like x-men and space books this is the series for you. Once again can’t say it enough do yourself a favor and give Robert’s books a try.

Finished 2nd book; bought book 3 asap
Bought the 3rd book (Kindle & Audible) as soon as I could. Book two was really well done. RWR raises a few moral and ethical issues, yet unlike some authors he never goes down the self-righteous path.
Nick Podehl gave his usual excellent performance.
