Summary

An animated movie from Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki, the oscar-winning director of Spirited Away

The beloved modern classic, released as an unabridged audiobook for the first time in 2019.

In the land of Ingary, where seven league boots and invisibility cloaks exist, young Sophie Hatter catches the unwelcome attention of the Witch of the Waste and is put under a spell . . .

Deciding she has nothing more to lose, Sophie makes her way to the moving castle that hovers on the hills above her town, Market Chipping. But the castle belongs to the dreaded Wizard Howl, whose appetite, they say, is satisfied only by the souls of young girls…

There Sophie meets Michael, Howl’s apprentice, and Calcifer the fire demon, with whom she agrees a pact. Her entanglements with Calcifer, Howl and Michael and her quest to break her curse come alive with Diana Wynne Jones’s unique combination of magic, humour and imagination.

Incredible just incredible

Incredible performance with great not forced accents. I’m so happy we’re finally getting the unabridged and I hope they do the same to do,r other of her series. Story as always is so fun and conforming. I recommend it to everyone and anyone

Amazing

Watched the Studio Ghibli adaption growing up and now listened to this as an adult.

Two different beasts but I love each as they are both beautiful in their own ways. This is great if you want to learn more about the world Sophie lives in, have a Welsh Howl, and generally have a story line that -while it felt wrapped up a bit quickly at the end - made actual sense. I love SGs adaption but dont ask me about what happens logically. Much deeper appreciation of each character in the OG book.istening to this audio book has been one of the better parts of a cold week in Janauary

also the narration was astoundingly good. I loved the narrators voice and how they bodies each new character. a new favourite story teller for sure.

Enchanting!

Such a brilliant audio book! I've watched the film and wasn't sure whether to try the book. If you're wondering the same, then just do it!! You won't regret it! I was absolutely hooked. Brilliant narration. An amazing magical enchanting world, I want to listen to it again :)

As good as i wanted it to be

As a huge fan of the film, I’ve been putting off listening to this. But it really was as good as I’d hoped.

Amazing !

One of my favourite stories of all time. Cozy, lovely, interesting and homey. Lots of magic and lively human interactions. The reading voice and acting was very good and I loved how she really gave life to each character and captured their personality!
