Summary

Are you being attacked by a pissed-off unicorn? Has an angry basilisk slithered into your camp? Is a dragon about to eat you? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this book is for you.

Our world is full of monsters. Some of them are happy to live and let live, but the majority of them are vicious jerks. If you want to survive, then you need to know what to do when things go wrong.

Don't settle for speculation or the ramblings of a tavern drunk. Get the facts about monsters straight from a legendary hero who has fought just about all of them and who has befriended a bunch of them. Whether it's krakens, vampires, or werewolves, this book has all the information you need to ensure your survival.

simply perfect

Another triumph for the magnificent L.G. Estrella, their artistry is brilliant. Great characters, genuinely laugh out loud funny. Fred Berman is also the best narrator on this platform

Couldn't get on with it sadly

I love all L G Estrella books, I listened to the sample and I also love Fred Bermans narration , so eagerly went ahead and purchased. But it just droned on until I had to admit defeat, it seemed to lack the humour and pace of the series, so there was nothing to encourage me to keep going. Fred Bermans voice sounded tired compared to the earlier books.

As its more of a reference and background description of the creatures encountered, I think this one is more suited to a paper book which sadly isn't available thus far.

Funny and informative

A bit different to Timmy and co, but I liked how the chapters seperated the creatures and when the protagonist shared his experiences of meeting the creatures. Some very funny and also emotional moments, nice listen.

Not an actual story

Written well, and Burman is a great narrator. The book is information about monsters, and there are hints of a great story. I hope we some day get the actual stories!

Lovely, quirky, a bit encyclopaedia-ish

I loved it, but if you want to listen to it - beware - there is not much action. ;) Mostly lovely, witty and funny monster lore. 😉

More of the 6th age please

did not know I needed this gave me multiple chuckles and enjoyed the flow of the book and unlike the asinine review that clearly did not read blurb or listen to a sample of this book and disappointed them with what they got I clearly understood what this was and it held to the high expectations I have from the author I was not disappointed narrator is fantastic worth a shout out

An instant classic

Yet more evidence that the author is a genius in fantasy literature. The books are such a great romp that it is easy to overlook the amazingly detailed (and very sensible) world building. This "monster manual" helps give some depth to the world that Timmy the necromancer inhabits.

a man how has seen things and is not afraid to say it.

the book reads like an old man trying to teach you about the world throw his experiences and is told like it disconnected but it makes to much sense in context. supper casual but semi angry in many cases.
