Stupendo!!! Narrato proprio benissimo, il top sarebbe stato avere Angie Cruz, ma la narratrice fa un lavoro egregio e la storia e’ bellissima.

Pleasantly surprised
I usually hate audio books that include sound effects in the narrative so I was initially put off by this one. However in this case the sound effects only add to the listening experience and take nothing away.
This was an immersive experience and an excellent performance. 👏🏾
Having said that I am not sure how the book would read and if it would be so alive and engaging without the performance of the voice actor

Amazing
Wow. This story was very touching. No matter how hard our immigrant parents misunderstand us, just know they are trying their best to survive. I recommend everyone to listen/read this book, especially kids of immigrants. The narrator was also amazing, and made the experience of listening to this audiobook engaging for me.

great story, great narration
This was a really different book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only one person speaking but you felt like you knew her and her family and friends through the stories. At times her stories were funny, other times heartbreaking and often she was very irritating - I wanted to shout "no, don't write that" at her when she was completing official forms and job applications. But overall a very good book that I would recommend and excellent narration that brought the whole thing alive.

if you don't like it from the start, give up
I kept going because of the rave reviews, I thought it must get better, but it wasn't for me. it was quite realistic, I liked the originality, and the acting was great. But I found it a bit tedius, whilst also a bit stressful, to listen to. if was a bit like listening to the ramblings of an elderly relative
